Lakewood Church Chooses Gepco for Video and Audio Cable Installation

Lakewood Church, a nondenominational church based in Houston, has recently chosen Gepco to cable its new worship facility. Lakewood Church has more than 30,000 members and televises broadcasts reaching more than 200 million households. Using Gepco’s high-quality cables for the video and cable installation will ensure successful transmission of the services to the church’s entire congregation.
“Gepco was our choice for audio and video cable products because they are extremely durable and very reliable,” states Andre Guidry, chief media engineer. “I have used Gepco in the past for other projects, and I am always pleased with the results. The following Gepco products were purchased and installed in Lakewood: VDM2001 for SDI digital, analog video and AES audio; VSD230 for SDI digital, analog video and AES audio; VHD1100 for long SDI digital and analog runs; 61801EZ for analog audio and timecode; and 6600 for machine control or RS-442 control.
In addition to the cable, Lakewood Church also implemented Gepco’s HDR hybrid fiber distribution rack system. The HDR hybrid fiber distribution rack provides a simplified solution for the onsite installation of SMPTE hybrid fiber interconnections. Each hybrid fiber connector is broken out to separate single-mode fiber ST connectors and an electrical five-pin connector. This component level break out allows the camera interconnect to be run over separate fiber optic and electrical cable elements. Component level termination enables simplified ST and electrical termination methods, eliminating the need for specialized hybrid fiber termination methods.
