Matrox Monarch HDX is a compact, easy-to-use, dual-channel H.264 encoding appliance. At just $1,995 US, it is a fraction of the cost of solutions with comparable functionality. It can integrate seamlessly into virtually any SD and HD installation to deliver video content for live or file-based workflows. Features include versatile, selectable I/O; frame synchronization; low pass-through latency (with a built-in power-loss relay); and proven scaling, deinterlacing, and noise reduction. Two independent H.264 encoding engines provide redundancy for streaming
or recording operations or can be set to stream and/or record independently using individual settings. An additional, dedicated H.264 encoder provides remote preview of the input. The encoders use either RTMP or RTSP protocol to deliver live streams to local media servers or cloud-based CDNs. Each channel can be independently configured to deliver the quality/bitrate required to each desired target (up to 20Mbps for a single target; up to 10Mbps each for two streams), enabling a wide range of workflows for multiple-location streaming, recording, and archiving.
