Christie expands its line of tiled displays with the introduction of high-brightness indoor LED tiles, Christie Velvet, that are easy to install, seamless to integrate, and offer low total cost of ownership. The new LED tiles are available in various sizes with a built-to-order design that allows customers to configured them into any shape or size. Available in a number of pixel pitches, including 1.875mm, 2.5mm, 3mm, and 4mm, Christie Velvet also features wide-viewing angles, darker blacks, and exceptional image clarity. The tiles are suitable for indoor videowall applications, such as retail, hospitality, corporate lobbies, and control rooms. Built for 24/7/365 use and backed by a warranty and sales service, the LED tiles can be used with Christie’s image processing and content management software.

Contemporary Research QMOD-SDI 2
The Contemporary Research QMOD-SDI 2 can deliver two HD-SDI streams over RF and IPTV. The heart of the technology shift is a new dual-channel encoder with embedded 608/708 captioning as well as Line 21 data on the unit’s dual composite/CC inputs. Each of the two SDI inputs is matched by coax SPIDF and analog stereo audio inputs, so that audio can be added when it’s not embedded. Integral scaling can accept 3G SDI, 59.94/60Hz video, as well as international 50Hz and 25Hz formats. An optional upgrade key adds the ability to cross-convert resolutions, such as scaling all input formats to 720p or 1080i. Embedded or SPDIF AC-3 audio will pass through to the channel, and stereo AES, PCM or analog audio will be converted to stereo AC-3. In addition, encoding supports dual-language audio channels. The unit’s 1G IP port also supports onboard web pages, setup, monitoring, and firmware updates.

Crimson AV’s CM Menu Board Multi-Monitor mounting system is designed to reduce installer assembly, installation, and alignment time for inline multiple-display arrays and menu-board installations. The CM series joins Crimson’s lineup of fully modular AV mounting solutions that allow installers to mount single or multiple displays to wall, floors, fixtures, or from the ceiling in either landscape or portrait orientation with minimal visual interference. Other installer-friendly features provided by the line include Crimson’s simplified alignment design, which allows for adjusting the visual aesthetic without the need to adjust or remount displays, proprietary locks for increased security, and other timesaving features.

At InfoComm, DT Research announced the MS2800H and MS2800L digital signage multi-screen appliances, the latest in the WebDT Signage System line. The MS2800H/L enable up to 4K or 8K powerful content seamlessly played across multiple displays (up to 16 from a single appliance), and offer content blending, or tiling, across screens and multi-zone management via WebDT Content Manager 6.1 Pro, the included web-based Content Management System. Featuring two Intel Xeon v2 processors (E5-2630 for MS2800L and E5-2643 for MS2800H with higher frame rate supported), the MS2800H/L support up to 16 outputs for ultra-high-resolution video arrays. Each screen displays 1920×1080 (full-HD) resolution, and multiple screens can be configured into one canvas or can deliver content to individual screens in different areas of a building. This flexibility simplifies installation in large venues.

The Canon S series full-HD-resolution network cameras—the VBS30D PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) micro-dome camera, VB-S31D PT (pantilt) microdome camera, VB-S800D fixed micro-dome camera, and the VBS900F micro-box camera—have been designed for indoor environments that require sensitive monitoring of specific areas or items, such as in the retail, education, commercial, and hospitality sectors. Power over Ethernet and Open Network Video Interface Forum Profile- S conformance allow easy installation. The cameras feature high-sensitivity CMOS sensors, large apertures, wide-angle lenses, and dual DIGIC processors. In addition to multi-streaming, the cameras can also do simultaneous streaming. The full range supports edge recording on microSD cards (up to 64Gb). They also feature Auto Smart Shade Control, which automatically selects the optimum exposure level and helps compensate for dark areas while simultaneously maintaining the bright areas by adjusting the gain of the underexposed areas.

BenQ recently unveiled new digital signage display solutions, including the RP840G 84in. 4K Ultra HD interactive display that provides USB multi-PC touch control, EZCast for Wi-Fi collaboration, and a teaching software bundle for classroom applications. Also making its debut is the company’s new 70in. RP700+ interactive flatpanel display—ideal for classroom, collaborative boardrooms, and wayfinding solutions—that features multitouch technology and anti-glare glass to reduce screen reflection and eliminate visual interference. The display supports a low blue light mode for further visual protection and includes multiplatform compatibility with software such as Chrome OS. The display also has additional connectivity features such as a front panel input/output for added flexibility. Designed for open public spaces, BenQ’s DL550F full-HD 55in. dual-side display is 1in. thick and can hang from a ceiling or be placed on a stand, while the manufacturer’s new bar displays enable ultra-widescreen signage in either 28in. (BH280) or 38in. (BH380) formats for public transit, restaurant menu boards, and more. Featuring 700 nits (28in.) and 1500 nits (38in.) of high brightness, 176/176-degree wide viewing angles in addition to DVI and VGA multiple signal interfaces, the panels can be used in portrait or landscape mode to support kiosk applications.
