New models of the Black Box Emerald PE transmitters and receivers offer support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), bringing even greater flexibility to the Emerald KVM-over-IP platform. With the PoE feature, Emerald PE can be deployed even more readily at the user desk and in the data center. Simply connect extender units to a PoE-capable Ethernet switch to save on additional power supplies. For redundancy, the PoE feature can also be used alongside the regular power supply. The low-latency Emerald 4K and Emerald SE transmitter-receiver pairs connect workstations with remote computers and servers over distances up to 10km over single-mode fiber, or even farther over IP. The Remote App for the Emerald platform is a KVM software that enables remote computer access to both physical and virtual machines from any Windows 10 device. The Remote App increases mobility, device access and monitoring on any Emerald system and delivers a full HD video desktop experience up to 40fps from multiple connections that can be launched simultaneously. It supports HD video up to 1920×1200 and provides access to both physical and virtual machines over an IP network or WAN connection, and open connections to multiple devices simultaneously are possible. Its license-based access authentication via the Boxilla KVM Network Manager in real time ensures that the Emerald administrator has full control.
