2016 U.S. Synchronized Ice Skating Championships Sound Great with RCF

The 2016 U.S. Synchronized Ice Skating Championships were held February 24-27 at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Recently, the event center has gone through a rehabilitation with the Battle Creek, Michigan-based Avtek installing a new RCF sound system in the facility. With the Event Center hosting a variety of events, as well as the home to the Kalamazoo Wings ice hockey team, Director of Sales Toni Daniels said, “with the growing variety of events at the facility, we wanted to show that we are able to execute diverse events and offerings to people seeing entertainment and a place to meet.”

Response is they succeed with the new sound system as an integral part of the entertainment environament. The system is compreised of 12 clusters of three P4228 weatherproof dual 8″ two-way cabinets encircling the seating area of the stadium, along with dual 18″ subwoofers mounted in the roof joists.

Wings Event Center Creative Producer Scott Glickman noted in terms of sound, “it is crisp, clear and audible,” and has increased the fan experience. For the skating championships, U.S. Figure Skating personnel noted it was the best sounding arena they have ever performed in.”
