ACT Lighting has launched ACT Academy, a brand new online platform featuring classes for MA Lighting’s grandMA2 console.  Classes are led by expert instructors through video tutorials and lesson quizzes, which can be accessed at any time and at the individual user’s own pace.  ACT Academy can be found at http://www.academy.actlighting.com/

The online learning system was built from the ground up by ACT’s education team to meet the increased demand of requests for training.  The launch will significantly broaden the scope and usage of the grandMA2 and deliver expert training to anyone who requires it.

“ACT has greatly expanded the grandMA2 training curriculum and made it available for all of our customers online.  We’re excited about this rollout, which makes our training accessible 24/7 to users of the desk,” said Brian Dowd, VP of Sales and Marketing at ACT.  “We’ve heard from our customers loud and clear that there is huge demand for this kind of training, which is crucial to their success in the industry.”

For ACT Academy ACT has built on their popular two-day immersive grandMA2 user class constructing an online version available on-demand.  There are two classes: 101 provides the basics to get the user started on a show and 102 covers more advanced topics such as details of macros, tracking and fixture profiles.  All lessons are supplemented by video, presentation slides, test questions and homework so users can continue to practice long after they have taken the course.

“The kickoff goal of ACT Academy was to create a digital version of our existing in-person grandMA2 classes,” said Will Murphy, Director of Software Support & Development at ACT.  “We have exceeded that goal by including more content and instruction in our 101 and 102 online courses than a user would get in person – all for the same price.  Now we have a tool to deliver limitless learning content to all of our customers.  Stay tuned for more to come!”
