Saint-Herblain, France (February 7, 2020)—On the heels of naming Allied ProTech as its U.S. distributor yesterday, French audio manufacturer Active Audio has announced today will unveil its new Ray-On PoE speaker at ISE.

The Ray-On PoE Loudspeaker Series integrates a PoE+ interface (IEEE 802.3at), a 60 W internal power amplifier and a Dante RJ45 digital input into a self-powered column loudspeaker. Internal signal processing and optimization utilizing the company’s DGRC (Digital & Geometric Radiation Control) steering technology creates coverage patterns via a mix of acoustics geometry and filtering.

The new Ray-On PoE speaker series is comprised of the R70-PoE and R110-PoE vertical column arrays, as well as the B70-PoE which provides horizontal directivity. Ray-On PoE loudspeakers will be available for immediate shipping.

Active Audio was founded in 2002, when Xavier Meynial, then a Professor of Room Acoustics, created the company in 2002 to promote both his own research and the work of the Acoustics Laboratory of the University of Le Mans. The company’s DGRC patent was filed in 2005 and soon after hit the marketplace under the company’s StepArray range. Today, the company is led by shareholder Régis Cazin, who took over management of Active Audio and provided the resources for reducing the product development cycle. The Active Audio brand is currently distributed in more than 30 countries, and its main brands are StepArray and Ray-On column arrays, and Vendôme and CL62 Series ceiling speakers, supplemented by a variety of subwoofers, audio processors, amplifiers and accessories.
