Atlona Expands HDVS Series of PTZ Cameras at ISE 2020

New HDBaseT and HDMI models enhance connectivity options in collaborative and other environments, with seamless integration to switchers, video conferencing codecs and more

SAN JOSE, California, January 13, 2020 – Atlona will bolster its HDVS Series of enterprise-grade PTZ cameras at ISE 2020 next month, with two new models that simplify connectivity in collaborative and many other environments. To be exhibitedat Stand 5.T50 (February 11-14, Amsterdam RAI), the new models offer HDBaseT and HDMI outputs, providing integrators with flexible options to build systems for conferencing and other applications inside meeting spaces, training rooms and classrooms, among other AV environments.

The Atlona HDVS Series is built for video conferencing systems, and is also ideal for instructional applications such as lecture capture and distance education. The two models offer a similar feature set, including professional-quality imaging for video resolutions up to 1080p @ 60 Hz, fast and accurate auto-focusing, a quick pan-and-tilt mechanism with minimal noise, and availability in black or white colors. Both cameras also offer effective upgrades to existing codecs in legacy video conferencing systems, delivering high-quality imaging performance and ease of installation.

The two cameras differ most on the connectivity side, with each providing a unique value proposition for its intended AV architecture:

  • The AT-HDVS-CAM-HDMI features an HDMI output plus a USB 2.0 interface for video and camera control, with simultaneous video output available over both interfaces to support conferencing and lecture capture, or a legacy hardware codec alongside modern software video conferencing.
  • The AT-HDVS-CAM-HDBT features an HDBaseT output for extending video, power and camera control over distances up to 330 feet (100 meters), and enables simple, clean connectivity over category network cabling.

HDMI and USB

The AT-HDVS-CAM-HDMI adds value by enabling multi-usage applications for live presentation, recording, streaming and conferencing. The professional-grade design outperforms standard webcams in both quality and meeting size adaptability. The camera also brings software video conferencing capability into the collaborative workflow via its USB connection. PTZ camera control is available from popular soft codec and UC clients such as Microsoft® Teams®, Zoom™, BlueJeans™, Slack™, Cisco® WebEx®, and GoToMeeting®.

Integrators working with Atlona’s Omega™ Series of switchers and extenders can also seamlessly integrate with these systems, and develop a complete conferencing system that includes AV and USB extension.

HDBaseT

The AT-HDVS-CAM-HDBT is ideal for remotely interfacing into HDBaseT switchers and extenders; the latter can be eliminated from the architecture when the camera is used with an HDBaseT-equipped switcher. Remote camera powering over HDBaseT further streamlines integration, with the freedom to install the camera anywhere without AV power availability constraints.

Whereas the HDMI model is ideal for smaller to medium sized meeting spaces and classrooms, the AT-HDVS-CAM-HDBT provides customers with an easily extendable solution for larger meeting spaces, lecture halls and auditoriums.

Atlona will continue to offer its original AT-HDVS-CAM, which features a USB 2.0 interface for video and camera control, and captures video at resolutions up to 1080p at 30 frames per second – an ideal solution for huddle spaces and smaller classrooms.

“The AT-HDVS-CAM was optimistically received by integrators seeking a camera that was simple to install, and offered a quick learning curve for use in education, training and corporate environments,” said Marshall Simmons, Product Manager for Atlona. “We are now offering new camera models for flexible adaptability into a wide range of AV system designs, while continuing to simplify integration with modern presentation and collaboration systems, including switchers and soft codecs.”
