Daniel Porter Shares Expertise on Acoustic Theory and Real-World Applications for Central Indiana Section of the Audio Engineering Society

first ever Central Indiana Audio Student Workshop, which took place on March 10 on the campus of
Ball State University
in the Music Media Production & Industry Studios.
Auralex Application Specialist Daniel Porter shared his acoustical expertise with approximately 150 attendees, providing practical tips on how to handle several real-world recording and performing scenarios. Porter discussed typical acoustical challenges of project studio production (room modes, reflections, etc.) and the available solutions (bass trapping, absorption, diffusion and isolation). Porter also demonstrated the effectiveness of monitor/amp decoupling with Auralex’s MoPADâ„¢ monitor isolators and GRAMMAâ„¢ isolation risers.
