AV Week Proclamations Issued by Governor Herbert and Mayor McAdams

InfoComm members’ petitions to the State of Utah and the County of Salt Lake to issue proclamations have been realized.

Bluffdale, Utah, USA — Listen Technologies Corporation today announced that the week of October 13-19, 2013, has been proclaimed “AV Week” by Utah Governor Gary Herbert and Salt Lake County Ben McAdams. Both proclamations state the impact of the audiovisual industry on everyday lives, noting AV applications in architecture, medicine, government proceedings, education, entertainment and business.

“The audiovisual industry affects everyone, every day” said Cory Schaeffer, Vice President of Sales Worldwide at Listen. “Anytime you walk into a school, church, theater, sports arena, shopping center, government office or other public venue, AV equipment is present to give you directions, help you hear better, enhance your visual experience, and improve communication with others.”

“It was my pleasure to sign the AV Week proclamation” commented Governor Herber as he met with InfoComm members. “The proclamation was a good reminder of the importance of AV in business and our daily lives.”

AV Week is presented by InfoComm International, a worldwide association serving the audiovisual industry. The association offers regular training and support to its members and sponsors the annual InfoComm trade show, which attracted over 50,000 attendees in 2013. InfoComm members in the State of Utah representing 40 companies and individuals include manufacturers, AV consulting and design firms, system integrators, and end users.

To raise awareness of AV Week, Schaeffer petitioned the State of Utah and the County of Salt Lake to issue proclamations. “We wanted Utahans to see how many companies in the state are involved with audiovisual technologies,” she said. “The AV industry is very healthy in Utah and benefits our economy not only through the technologies that are available, but also through job creation and revenues.”

Listen Technologies, along with other AV companies in Utah, will be participating in and hosting several events during AV Week (October 13 – 19, 2013). GENCOMM is planning their annual Tech Show on October 16 and Avidex is planning a Technology Tour of the new Adobe building on October 17. For the full calendar of events visit
