AVDG welcomes Michael Forsyth as IT Manager

AVDG kicks of 2021 with new hire as part of its ongoing efforts to bolster its management team

San Jose, CA – Audio Visual Design Group (AVDG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Michael Forsyth to the position of IT Manager, where he will oversee the company’s IT department in coordination with the IT operations of AVDG’s parent company, Guitar Center. His appointment underscores AVDG’s ongoing expansion and follows the recent appointments of additional leading industry personnel in key management positions.

Michael brings more than 20 years of IT experience to the position, including network management, telecommunications, budget planning, personnel training, help desk operations, and execution of technology strategies.

As head of IT, Michael will be responsible for the functional design, strategy, and technology infrastructure for AVDG. As the Group’s lead technical expert, he will serve as a liaison between the business side of the organization and the technical side, advising the business on technology and overseeing new systems design, development, and implementation.

“We are very excited for Michael Forsyth to join the AVDG family, and we look forward to where we can go next with his IT expertise and leadership,” said Doug Carnell, VP of Business Solutions at Guitar Center. “Michael will play a key role in improving our IT infrastructure, working closely with Guitar Center IT to continue the development and support of all our IT needs.”

Prior to joining AVDG, Michael served as IT Manager for TrustArc, a privacy compliance technology company, where he contributed to the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the corporate network, while also overseeing IT project management and business process improvement. Michael also previously oversaw IT operations for Masonic Homes of California, where he served as Director of IT.

“AVDG is a known leader for audio-visual and automation technologies,” said Forsyth. “I’m honored to join the organization as head of IT operations and look forward to helping maintain the high level of service and technical proficiency that AVDG is known for.”

As part of his role in improving AVDG’s IT infrastructure, Michael will analyze internal client needs, identify vulnerabilities, and inform business decisions with solutions that boost operational productivity and efficiency. He will help train employees on both software and hardware, troubleshoot, and provide technical support when needed.
