BenQ Brings Classroom IQ Solutions to FETC 2014 and TCEA 2014 Educational Events

New Products and Education Initiatives Bring Multidevice Connectivity, Increased Interactivity, and Power-Saving Technologies to Schools

COSTA MESA, Calif. — Jan. 23, 2014 — BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned provider of Classroom IQ solutions, today announced its participation at two upcoming educational events in support of its expanding commitment to the education sector. The company will join education leaders and technology experts at FETC in Orlando, Fla., from Jan. 28-31, as well as at TCEA in Austin, Texas, from Feb. 3-7. BenQ Classroom IQ Solutions on display will include new Colorific(TM) projectors, interactive flat panel (IFP) displays, and collaborative classroom applications.

With an increased commitment to the education market, BenQ has recently unveiled a number of initiatives including the BenQ Education Solutions in Technology (BEST) program. Created to provide educational partners across North America with a wide range of dedicated sales and support initiatives, the program furthers BenQ’s focus on the success of today’s students, teachers, and learning institutions.

Furthering its market support, BenQ named former educator Patti Postel as National Education Sales Manager. As a former teacher, Patti understands the needs of educators and commented: “BenQ is very keen on bringing the most advanced classroom technologies to teachers, students, and schools. Our Classroom IQ Solutions are specifically designed to satisfy the need for more interactive and immersive experiences by integrating the world of connected devices with solutions that are innovative, affordable, and easy to use. Schools can now create connected classrooms using visual display tools that will both protect their investment and enrich the overall learning experience.”

To complement the company’s wireless projectors and IFP displays, BenQ’s Classroom IQ solutions provide Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) collaboration, SmartEco(TM) lamp-saving technologies, as well as easy-to-use file sharing apps to transform teaching plans into more intuitive, immersive, and collaborative experiences. Furthermore, BenQ’s Colorific projector technology ensures the delivery of accurate, crisp, and long-lasting color — allowing students to experience up to 1 billion stunning colors on classroom projection screens. For schools, the technology eliminates light burn or color degradation over extended usage, which reduces the devices’ total cost of ownership (TCO). At FETC and TCEA, BenQ will showcase the following solutions:

BYOD Interactivity: Enhancing Learning Through Collaboration

Today’s students are using a wide range of devices to facilitate their schoolwork. As a result, schools have integrated smartphones, tablets, and laptops within the classroom environment to promote student interaction and enhance the learning process. To support collaboration, BenQ offers a full line of interactive projectors, IFP displays, and apps.

MX661 BYOD Projector — To balance superior image quality with today’s BYOD requirements, BenQ’s Colorific MX661 projector uses XGA native resolution to bring crisp content to the screen. When paired with BenQ’s QPresenter app for Android(TM) and IOS(R) devices, up to four students can collaborate and share documents, photos, and Internet content directly from their mobile devices. For IT managers, facility-wide maintenance is made simple with LAN control, enabling centralized remote monitoring and management. The MX661 provides support for AMX(R), Crestron(R), and PJLink(R) systems, making maintenance even more flexible and efficient, while manual vertical keystone calibration of A±40 gets materials up and running rapidly, regardless of classroom layout or projector placement.

MW824ST MHL-Equipped Interactive Projector — The new MW824ST interactive short-throw classroom projector combines SmartEco lamp-saving technology — for up to 10,000 hours of lamp life — with connectivity and performance options that provide next-generation classroom experiences. Equipped with BenQ’s PointWrite(TM) and QWrite capabilities for multiuser onscreen collaboration and the ability to share content from mobile devices via Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) technology, the MW824ST creates a more immersive and interactive learning experience for teachers and students.

Interactive Flat Panel Displays — BenQ’s IFPs bring highly accurate multitouch technology, superb image quality, and complete multimedia connectivity to learning environments. With display sizes ranging from 42 to 65 inches, the panels feature tile-friendly Windows(R) 8 compatibility, full HD resolution, and integrated speakers to transform lessons into more engaging exchanges. Ambient light sensors automatically adjust displays to simplify performance settings while picture-in-picture (PIP) enhances productivity and content control. In addition, optical sensing touch technology allows teachers and students to pan, zoom, and easily scroll through documents and websites. The IL650 (65-inch) multitouch display will be showcased at both events.

PointWrite Technology and QWrite Software — The enhanced BenQ PointWrite technology adds multiple pen integration, allowing up to four students to contribute simultaneously. With 1-second auto calibration and fast writing response time, PointWrite is effortless to set up and ensures an ultra smooth, interruption-free writing experience. Teachers can get up to four students to the board to share the lesson plan, making learning fun and interactive. The QWrite software is optimized for PointWrite, adding a number of effective learning tools for whiteboard applications.

BenQ SmartEco Technology: Lowering TCO

BenQ’s world-leading SmartEco lamp-saving technology brings the most advanced features to the classroom to lower TCO without compromising brightness, picture quality, or lamp performance. The latest BenQ SmartEco classroom projectors offer the following energy-savings modes:

– SmartEco Mode allows projectors to automatically adjust lamp power based on the amount of brightness required, allowing schools to reduce their TCO while maintaining optimal contrast and brightest performance.

– LampSave Mode dynamically adjusts lamp power to extend lamp life by 50 percent while cutting the frequency of lamp replacement in half. The result is an incredible 10,000 hours of lamp life without any concessions to quality.

– LumenCare Mode adjusts projector lamp power in gain steps until full power is reached, effectively maximizing power savings and reducing brightness decay. It’s the first and only projection feature on the market that ensures three years of consistent image brightness for optimal learning and teaching.

– Eco Blank Mode allows teachers to blank out the projection screen whenever the projector is not in use. When activated, Eco Blank Mode automatically dims lamp power and cuts 70 percent of the device’s total power consumption.

– No Source Detected Mode automatically activates the projector’s Eco Blank Mode after the projector has been idle for more than three minutes — further reducing unnecessary energy use while prolonging lamp life.

– Standby Mode lowers power consumption to less than 0.5W during periods of inactivity, providing energy savings during downtimes.
