BenQ’s Latest BL2711U Design Monitor for Creative Pros Debuts in North America

COSTA MESA, Calif. — July 30, 2015 — BenQ America Corp., an internationally renowned digital lifestyle solutions provider, today announced that it is now shipping its BL2711U design monitor. Engineered specifically for CAD/CAM professionals, animators, video editors, and graphic artists, BenQ’s latest addition to its creative product class allows detail-oriented users to work on a screen environment tailored precisely to fit their needs. Featuring true-to-life 4K ultra-high-definition (UHD), 100% sRGB color, in addition to CAD/CAM and animation modes, the revolutionary monitor unleashes new levels of precision with flexible customization tools that support every step of the design process.

“Our BL2711U creative display caters to design professionals that require high levels of precision in their daily workflows,” said J.Y. Hu, Vice President, Business Line Management at BenQ America Corp. “By introducing features such as a CAD/CAM mode that automatically adjusts monitor settings to work within complex object wireframes, a ten-level animation mode, and 27 inches of UHD clarity, today’s graphics professionals gain the market’s most advanced workspace for rendering accurate designs.”

BenQ’s BL2711U joins the existing BL Series as the first 27-inch 4K monitor specifically created for design and engineering applications. Combining 100% sRGB with BenQ’s IPS panel technology, users gain an incredibly precise 10-bit display that renders over one billion hues — ensuring that images are displayed with rich, life-like color integrity. Certified by SolidWorks, the BL2711U also covers the Rec. 709 color space while the unit’s 3840 x 2160 resolution offers over 300% more work space when compared to traditional full HD displays.

Featuring a CAD/CAM mode, the BL2711U allows professional engineers and designers to bring out detailed object wireframes in software packages such as Pro/E, SolidWorks, AutoCad, and CATIA. By automatically altering viewable color and contrast settings, the monitor lets users access highly detailed graphical information in order to increase accuracy in complex designs. For professional animators, the screen’s Animation Mode provides ten levels of display brightness to reveal details in darkened areas without overexposing brighter zones — allowing them to efficiently fine-tune their process. The BL2711U has also been optimized for video editors and graphic artists by providing more space to access editing tools as well as resolution levels that display content the way it was intended to appear.

Equipped with both picture-in-picture (PIP) and picture-by-picture (PBP), the BL2711U allows users to simultaneously compare images from a separate set of sources while 178/178-degree ultra-wide viewing angles further increase collaboration across teams. Using BenQ’s Display Pilot software, designers are also able to customize their display easily — enabling features such as desktop partitioning, application tuning, or auto pivoting. To satisfy ergonomic requirements, the BL2711U provides an extensive range of monitor adjustments such as height, tilt, pivot, and swivel with a maximum of 140 mm between the base and bottom of the screen. Using auto-pivot, the monitor intuitively detects monitor movement and automatically adjusts content orientation to portrait or landscape modes.

BenQ is committed to delivering purpose-built monitors that ease the viewing experience for all users. With RevolutionEyes(TM) technology and the latest “EyeCare” initiative, BenQ is highlighting user benefits across its entire monitor range with unique features that enhance visual comfort and reduce the risk of eyestrain, all while augmenting productivity. Using ZeroFlicker(TM) capabilities, the BL2711U eliminates backlight flickering at all brightness levels to make long periods of computer use more comfortable. To make work sessions even more convenient, BenQ’s Low Blue Light technology provides four preset modes to reduce blue spectrum light. These include a Multimedia Mode for content consumption, Web-surfing Mode for browsing webpages, Office Mode for word processing, and a Reading Mode that simulates the comfort of reading from paper.

Now shipping, BenQ’s BL2711U is available at a retail price of $679. More information on BenQ’s full line of products is available at
