Broadcast Pix Welcomes Kevin Prince as New President and CEO

Broadcast Pix™ has announced that Kevin Prince will join the company as President and CEO, as well as a member of the Board of Directors, effective Oct. 1.

Billerica, Massachusetts –Broadcast Pix™ has announced that Kevin Prince will join the company as President and CEO, as well as a member of the Board of Directors, effective Oct. 1. He will succeed Steve Ellis, who has been instrumental in the company’s success over the past 30 months and personally led the recruitment efforts for Prince.

“We are simply thrilled that Kevin has agreed to lead the next phase of the company’s growth, the foundation of which has been so ably laid by Steve,” said Robert Flory, chairman. “Kevin brings to the position critical experience, knowledge, and skills to accelerate that development.”

Prince is a leader in the user of cloud technology for broadcast television graphics, having established the world’s most successful content creation and distribution systems for the broadcast and post communities. Prior to his appointment, Prince was senior vice president of business development for ChyronHego, where he developed a relationship with MLB Advanced Media to provide technology that now drives MLB’s unique Statcast fan engagement system. He had previously served as president of Hego US, Inc., which merged with Chryon in 2012.

For more than six years, Prince was COO of Chyron Corp., where he led the company’s day-to-day global operations, product research and development, marketing, and corporate development. He previously held key positions at Pinnacle Systems, Inc., where he was responsible for the Deko line of character generators and developed a distributed editing system for CNN and other national broadcasters. While at Discreet Logic, Prince created and developed the product management team for Flame and Inferno digital effects compositing systems, and developed Fire and Smoke NLE effects systems. Prince also served as president of Alpha Image, Inc.

“My goal is to utilize my technological insights and operational expertise to strengthen Broadcast Pix’s culture of innovation, expand the company into new markets, extend its product portfolio, and develop global reach,” Prince said.

Ellis will remain with the company as vice president of sales, focusing on key accounts and OEM partnerships while managing the sales team. He will also continue to serve on the Board of Directors.

“My background is in sales – and with Kevin joining the team, I will be able to focus my attention on our sales efforts,” Ellis explained. “Bringing someone on board who can work with engineering and product management to accelerate our product development will allow us to bring more products to market and add critical metrics to our day-to-day and long-term operation needs.”
