CGI to showcase next-generation newsroom, radio, and IT services portfolio at IBC2025

Human-centered innovation and AI-driven workflows designed for today’s hybrid broadcast environments

CGI (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB), one of the largest independent IT and business consulting services firms in the world, will present its bold new vision for the future of broadcast and digital media at IBC2025, Amsterdam, September 12–15, at Stand 8.B47.

This year, CGI will highlight a modernized and expanded product portfolio designed to meet the evolving needs of broadcasters worldwide, from next-generation newsroom systems and advanced radio production workflows to tailored IT and consulting services that enable digital transformation. CGI will also be joined at its stand by innovation partner Highfield AI, showcasing collaborative, AI-driven solutions for content production and automation.

Next-generation newsroom with OpenMedia

CGI’s flagship newsroom system, OpenMedia, is being redesigned to use a modern, proven technology stack that can run anywhere, whether on-premises, in the cloud, or in hybrid deployments. Being developed in close collaboration with broadcasting teams, the new OpenMedia platform follows a human-centered design approach. It will deliver a faster, more intuitive, and highly scalable platform for both traditional broadcast and digital-first environments. Current customers will continue to receive support for OpenMedia Classic, with a smooth evolution path to the new platform planned to support operational continuity and a seamless transition.

“The redesigning of OpenMedia reflects a fundamental shift in how newsrooms can operate across hybrid environments,” said Michael Pfitzner, Vice President and Subject Matter Expert for Media at CGI. “We have reimagined the platform from the ground up, with a modern architecture and a human-centered user interface that gives broadcasters the flexibility to deploy wherever their operations demand, while maintaining the robust functionality that mission-critical newsrooms require.”

Smarter radio workflows with CGI dira

CGI’s dira product family continues to define the standards for professional radio production. The latest generation, dira Dimension, introduces a streamlined workflow optimized for today’s fast-paced radio newsrooms, supporting production across multiple media formats including audio, video, and images.

“dira Dimension’s flexible workflow architecture addresses the reality of modern radio production,” said Michael Thielen, Vice-President – Consulting Services, Media Solutions at CGI. “The modular design enables broadcasters to scale their infrastructure precisely as needed, whether on-premises, cloud, or hybrid, while the automation-ready backend significantly reduces manual production overhead. Integration with innovation partners such as AIcoustics provides advanced, automated audio enhancements, making production faster, cleaner, and more consistent.”

AI-driven content solutions with Highfield AI

CGI will be joined by Highfield AI, showcasing collaborative, AI-powered solutions that enhance content production and automate editorial workflows. Purpose-built for broadcasters, Highfield AI integrates seamlessly with CGI’s OpenMedia to support journalists with story creation, automatically populating templates with relevant multimedia assets. The result is a streamlined, efficient newsroom process that enables teams to focus on editorial impact while accelerating production timelines by up to 75%.
