Christie Continues to Extend 4K and 3D Digital Cinema Footprint Across Asia Pacific Region

Exhibitors in countries throughout the Asia Pacific region continue to embrace ChristieA® 4K and 3D technology, employing the company’s award-winning Solariaâ„¢ Series of DLP Digital CinemaA® projectors in hundreds of screens. Designed to meet DCI specifications, the Christie Solariaâ„¢ Series includes a fully integrated media block (IMB) solution that can manage Higher Frame Rates (HFR) and 4K content without compromising image quality.

Rapid 4K Expansion in China

Christie has the most 4K installations in China including more than 350 with the Wanda Group, Asia’s largest cinema chain.

United Circuit, the cinema operator under Shanghai Film Group, China’s largest cinema circuit, recently purchased 200 Christie digital cinema projectors, including the Christie CP4230.

Xu Xiaoping, general manager of United Circuit, said the 4K digital cinema projectors are part of the company’s next step in providing industry-leading solutions for bigger screens and selected 3D releases. To date, United Circuit has installed more than 600 Christie digital cinema projectors across China.


India and Indonesia Embrace 4K

In Indonesia, Christie is installing close to 200 digital cinema projectors, including several 4K models. Other Asia markets using Christie 4K DLP CinemaA® projection technology include Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.

Christie 4K Provides New Cinematic Experience Down Under

Hoyts Group, Australia’s second largest chain with 55 cinemas and over 448 screens, employs a selection of Christie 4K projectors in both Australia and New Zealand.
