CHRISTIE PROJECTORS DISPLAY HIGH DEFINITION 3D IMAGES GENERATED BY INTUITIVE SURGICAL‘S da VINCI ROBOTIC SURGICAL SYSTEM
CYPRESS, CA – (August 08, 2007) – Christie, a global leader in visual solutions for business, entertainment and industry, was selected by Intuitive Surgical, Inc., a pioneer in surgical robotics, to help display high definition 3D video images generated by the company‘s breakthrough da VinciA® Surgical System, which is designed to enable surgeons to perform complex surgery using a minimally invasive approach.
In demonstrations at trade shows and professional conferences around the country, Intuitive Surgical successfully harnessed the power of a pair of Christie DS+5K 3-Chip DLPA® digital projectors to render highly accurate 3D images of surgical procedures in passive stereo, as seen by surgeons operating the da Vinci Surgical System.
According to Intuitive Surgical, prior to the da Vinci System, only highly skilled surgeons could routinely attempt complex minimally invasive surgery. da Vinci‘s innovative controls and high definition viewing screen allow surgeons to perform these operations with more confidence. Intuitive is successfully using Christie projectors to more accurately demonstrate the sharp images seen by da Vinci operators.
