SP-1000 SmartPlug and BlueBOLT Network Management Feature Combine to Take Home Three Prestigious Industry Awards
PETALUMA, Calif. — Oct. 3, 2013 — Core Brands(R) today announced that Panamax(R) and BlueBOLT(R) were honored with three awards for the brands’ innovative products at CEDIA EXPO 2013. The Panamax SP-1000 SmartPlug received a 2013 CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles(R) Manufacturers’ Excellence Award for Best New Product and a Technology Integrator EXC!TE Award, while BlueBOLT was the recipient of a CE Pro BEST Award for its network management feature in the Power Management, Generation, Surge Suppression, and Storage/Remote Services category.
CEDIA Manufacturers’ Excellence Award winners were determined by a diverse panel of CEDIA residential electronic systems contractor judges on the criteria of innovation, value to the technician, value to the business, and impact on the client’s lifestyle. Presented by Technology Integrator, EXC!TE Awards were given to products that stood out for being innovative, high-performance, and solutions-oriented for the custom installation professional. The CE Pro BEST Award recognizes the best new products and technologies for the custom installation channel.

The Panamax SP-1000 SmartPlug provides low-cost energy monitoring, load control, and scheduled conservation in a compact form factor that plugs directly into any standard 120V, 15A outlet. Utilizing ZigBee(R) wireless communications, the SP-1000 can be monitored, controlled, programmed, and accessed remotely through the cloud-based BlueBOLT energy management and control platform via a wired BB-ZB1 gateway.
The BlueBOLT network management feature allows users to query (ping) any device on a network with an IP address from a BlueBOLT-enabled component equipped with a BlueBOLT-CV1 card (BB-ZB1 gateway compatibility coming soon). In the event of a failed ping response, BlueBOLT can send email notifications, reboot an outlet, reboot a series of outlets in sequence, or any combination of the above. A boon for integrators, the network management feature facilitates a self-healing network, which drastically reduces service calls, limits truck rolls, and ultimately provides a better experience for the end user.
