Countryman Showcases a Full Range of Detachable Connectors for the B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier at Winter NAMM 2017

New connectors enable quick and easy integration into any production environment

Menlo Park, CA… Winter NAMM Booth 6691… Countryman Associates, Inc., the leading innovator of high-quality, miniature microphones, is pleased to announce the availability of a comprehensive assortment of detachable connectors for the company’s popular B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier microphone— the smallest lavalier microphone in the world. A favorite for film, television, and theatrical applications, the new detachable connectors address the company’s single most common request: to enable the B6 to quickly and easily switch between different brands of transmitters, recorders, and other audio equipment.

With professional audio’s most comprehensive range of connector options, the new detachable connectors span more than 400 models of equipment from AKG, Shure, Sennheiser, Lectrosonics, Sony, Wisycom, and many additional equipment manufacturers. The connector types include 3.5 mm, Hirose, TA3F, TA4F/Tiny QG, TA5F, LEMO, and XLR (for use with Phantom powered equipment such as digital recorders and mixing consoles).

In the process of developing the new detachable connectors for the B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier microphone, Countryman’s engineering team completely reviewed and revised their circuits to ensure maximum B6 microphone performance with each system. Each connector is designed to resist radio frequency interference and the mechanical elements are built tough to survive the rigors of professional use.

Chris Countryman, President of Countryman Associates, commented on the company’s new B6 detachable connectors, “Due to its unusually small form factor, our B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier has proven to be incredibly versatile. Because of its popularity, we regularly receive requests to make the B6 better able to interface with a wide range of equipment. Now, sound engineers and traveling presenters can take a selection of connectors on the road and know they have everything required to interface the microphone to all types of equipment and tackle any challenge they may encounter. I’m confident these connectors will open the doors to a myriad of new opportunities for our B6 users.”

The new Countryman detachable connectors for the B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier microphone are available now and are sold individually (MSRP $100). For additional information, contact your authorized Countryman dealer or Countryman Associates directly at (800) 669-1422.

About the Countryman B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone

As the smallest lavalier microphone in the world, the B6 can be hidden readily in plain sight without being visible—even on close-ups. The microphone’s audio quality is exceptionally natural and open, with a flat frequency response ranging from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, a noise floor of 24 dBA, and overload level up to 140 dBSPL (1% THD) for the W6 version. The microphone head is protected from perspiration and foreign matter by plastic caps, ensuring users will never ‘sweat out’ the B6. The B6 Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone is offered in black, white, and additional colors designed to match various skin tones and theater make-up shades. The B6 can easily be hidden in the hair, against the skin, or on clothing.
