Backnang, Germany, 4 February 2025 – d&b audiotechnik announces the launch of ArrayCalc V12, the latest version of its renowned system planning and simulation software. This update introduces new features including d&b’s innovative virtual Patch Plan, an enhanced visualisation tool designed to streamline workflows and improve the accuracy of infrastructural planning. These enhancements enable users to plan and deploy sound systems with precision and efficiency, reducing both time and effort.

Introducing the virtual Patch Plan

A key feature of ArrayCalc V12 is d&b’s virtual Patch Plan, which represents a significant improvement in professional sound system planning. As audio networks become increasingly complex, the Patch Plan simplifies system design by providing a comprehensive visual representation of the system infrastructure. The visualisation of the system architecture and the ability to plan the system racks within ArrayCalc significantly reduces the need for third-party tools.

“ArrayCalc version 12 is an important step into the future,” says Florian Hahn, Product Manager Application Software at d&b audiotechnik. “With the new Patch Plan, our users will benefit from a feature that will streamline workflows and ensure that even the most complex systems can be planned and deployed with confidence. With this release d&b further demonstrates its commitment to our customers. Providing them with tools that enable to do their jobs efficiently and effectively.”

Key features and benefits of ArrayCalc V12

ArrayCalc V12 is designed to simplify system planning and meet the challenges of managing complex workflows. Some key features include:

  • Increased automation and improved user experience: Users can visualise system infrastructure, understand device connections and quickly map out signal flow using smart patching options with seamless tracking. Visual error indicators make troubleshooting faster and more effective.
  • Streamlined system rack design: Simplifies the process of designing and connecting system racks, supporting both standard and custom configurations.
  • Soundscape design support: Provides dedicated tools for Soundscape patch planning, from design to production.
  • Milan integration: Visualises Milan streams and their associated channels, providing a better overview of signal distribution.
  • Export and documentation options: Allows users to export all details of the planned system architecture for field deployment, sales proposals and installation documentation, improving collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • CCL support: The new CCL (Compact Cardioid Line Array) System can be planned and simulated within ArrayCalc V12.

ArrayCalc V12 will be available in March as a native standalone application for Windows and MacOS. Visitors to ISE 2025 are invited to take a first look at the new version on d&b’s stand 7E150 in hall 7.
