Digital Nirvana to Introduce Automated Sports Clipping Service at 2017 NAB Show

The new cloud-based service simplifies operations for sports broadcasters in adhering to new FCC regulations

Fremont, CA – Digital Nirvana announces that it will debut an all-in-one automated sports clipping service at the upcoming NAB Show. Designed to enable broadcasters to easily capture and share every fast-paced moment in a game, the sports clipping service is coupled with automated caption synchronization, empowering users to publish sports media content online and via social media without time lag while complying with new FCC regulations. Taking place April 24-27 in Las Vegas, Digital Nirvana will showcase the new service along with its line of media management products and services at NAB in Booth #SU13113.

The new sports clipping service automatically analyzes sports broadcasts in real-time and generates ready-to-publish clips of those highlights. The service can also generate highlight images and GIFs for customers’ social media promotional activities. Offering state-of-the-art workflow and customization capabilities, Digital Nirvana’s sports clipping service reduces manual intervention in broadcast operations while catering to the viewers’ needs and meeting compliance requirements.

“Our new sports clippings service make it easy for sports broadcasters and content creators to quickly publish content to their website and social media, and it also improves the ways that broadcasters can make high quality video accessible for audience consumption from anywhere, at anytime,” explained Hiren Hindocha, President and CEO, Digital Nirvana. “Automatic closed captioning engages audiences more, particularly on social media where people may be tuning in while in public places without their audio on. Our sports clipping service was also created in response to new FCC regulations that will take effect in July and concern all broadcasters that air content online and on television. With this new rule, all video clips of live and near‐live programming must be captioned if the associated programming is shown on TV with captions. With our new automated sports clipping service, we’re aiming to make it easy for sports broadcasters to generate clips to share with its audiences, while at the same time being in compliance with all FCC regulations.”

Digital Nirvana’s sports clipping service is the first of its kind – offering automated clipping with metadata and caption synchronization simultaneously, as well as an option for manually cleaning up text. Enabling content creators to easily gather and generate clips from multiple sporting event airings simultaneously, the service makes broadcasters’ operations more efficient. Broadcasters can also quickly pick and choose content to publish sports clip montages. The service reduces the time and cost to publish content, and is available immediately.

Other service highlights of Digital Nirvana’s NAB booth will be its closed captioning offerings, including automated cloud-based closed captioning generation and synchronization services. Digital Nirvana will also introduce an automated video logging service at the show. Product booth highlights include the company’s MonitorIQ media management platform, along with its stand-alone media management solutions, including the cloud-based OTT monitoring solution, AnyStreamIQ, as well as content repurposing solution, MediaPro. Digital Nirvana will also showcase its CAR/TS transport stream recorder and Repeat Audio Detection (RAD) technology.
