FARMINGDALE, NY/NAB Show Booth #SL7610 – February 11, 2020: EEG Video, the leader in closed captioning technology, will introduce an expansive range of new solutions for broadcasters, government, non-profit, education, corporate, and other content creators at NAB Show 2020. This year’s convention will be held April 18-22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with exhibits running April 19-22.
Here is what NAB Show attendees can expect to see from EEG:
This year will be the first NAB Show that EEG showcases Lexi™ Local. On-premises and off the cloud, this service provides complete control over data security and networking with no internet access or cloud connection ever required. Delivering live automatic closed captions and subtitles in English and Spanish with more than 90% accuracy, Lexi Local equips organizations with maximum precision and data security.
2020 will also mark the first NAB showing of iCap™ Local, a companion product to EEG’s industry-leading iCap™ cloud-based closed captioning and subtitling delivery network. iCap Local enables the deployment of iCap to a private, on-premises cloud for companies whose stringent internal security policies require this configuration.
iCap Local is optimal for video productions in the enterprise, government, and medical verticals that have been prevented from taking advantage of innovations in accessibility technology because of internal limitations on the use of public cloud services for highly confidential data.
Users of Lexi’s traditional on-cloud service will experience the debut of a new, higher-accuracy automatic caption engine at NAB Show 2020. Customers can now experience new configurability for caption accuracy, customization and delay, creating the right accessibility solution for a variety of live caption use cases, with word accuracy of 95% achievable in a growing set of content applications.
A new advanced scheduling engine for Lexi captioning will also be previewed at the show, perfect for live event operators and complex scheduling tasks.
AV610 in 4K
Live event display captioning moves forward with the debut of an industry-first live captioning creation and display product for 4K UHD video. The next generation of EEG’s acclaimed AV610 live captioning display device displays overlaid captions in native resolution 4K video with a 12 Gbps SDI connection. Optimized for next-generation UHD A/V setups in stadiums, venues, and live conferencing, the AV610 is a complete 1 RU system providing captioning connectivity to any iCap partner transcription company or with automatic captioning services.
The Alta line of captioning solutions for live IP video production environments is also expanding. Premiering at NAB Show 2020 is the Alta Network Gateway, a 1 RU live closed captioning system capable of accommodating up to 10 simultaneous channels of SMPTE 2110-30 audio and 2110-40 ancillary data. It can be used with any iCap captioning network partner, or EEG’s Lexi service.
Additionally, the Alta MPEG-TS configuration includes new features for SCTE-35 digital program cue injection and logging, as well as TR101-290 transport stream monitoring.
Falcon, EEG’s category-leading RTMP live caption embedding solution, will also introduce new features at NAB Show 2020. Highlights include an expansion to support non-European language character sets and additional video players with a new HLS (HTTP Live Streaming) output option with VTT or TTML caption tracks.
“EEG is energized to demonstrate the latest advances of our closed captioning solutions at this year’s NAB Show,” says Bill McLaughlin, VP of Product Development at EEG. “We’re excited for visitors to experience the full range of EEG solutions.”
