Electric Bass Virtuoso and Audiophile Dean Peer to Play Two Acoustic Sets at CEDIA Expo 2015 Presented by Torus Power

Toronto, ON, Canada & Dallas, TX (CEDIA Expo, Booth #7024)– October 1, 2015 – Torus Power, maker of uncompromising, clean, toroidal isolation transformer power components, announced today that electric bass virtuoso, bass authority and audiophile Dean Peer accompanied by lifelong friend, drummer, and percussionist Bret Mann will play two live sets at the Torus Power booth (#7024) during CEDIA Expo on Friday, October 16th. Peer and Mann will perform two sets, one from 2-3:15 CDT and the other from 4-5:15 CDT, featuring songs from their latest album, Airborne, on which they highlight songs from their collective background in funk, jazz-rock, and Americana. Both sets will be performed through a Torus Power AVR2 toroidal isolation transformer for a precise, clean sound. “We wanted to do something that meant something to us both personally on this album. The title of the record is Airborne, but that has nothing to do with flying planes. It was the name of our band in high school,” says Peer. “Through sound we are bringing across our experience and telling our story.”

The duo has known each other for more than 30 years, having learned to play together in junior high school. With songs from Airborne, Peer and Mann will bring back the energy and power they had playing rock and roll music when they were younger—with Peer’s intricate bass perfectly accompanied but never overwhelmed by Mann’s non-traditional percussion and drumming.

Before each set, Torus Power will present its new, competitively priced TOT AVR toroidal isolation power transformer series with automatic voltage regulation that will be launched at the Expo. The TOT AVR continuously monitors incoming voltage to detect high- and low-voltage conditions and seamlessly and instantaneously triggers compensating circuitry to ensure the voltage powering the equipment is always optimal. Audio comes alive with better dynamics, imaging and bass. Video is notably crisper with brighter colors and darker blacks—all at a true value considering this series’ robust feature set.

After each performance, listeners and show attendees are invited to learn more about Torus Power’s products firsthand and experience the difference the company’s toroidal isolation transformers can make in both audio and video performance.

“Peer is stunning on electric bass, and seeing him and Mann live is a rare treat,” says Kevin Main, VP of Sales and Marketing for Torus Power. “His intricate melodies are perfectly complimented by Mann’s beats. We look forward to a fun and exciting couple of hours of great live music amidst the tumult of the show, and we invite everyone to do the same.”
