(Edison, New Jersey) One of the world’s most renowned music venues – The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey – has chosen the RCF TTL55-A large format line array system for their Summer Stage Concert Series.
2014 marks the 40th anniversary of the legendary rock club. In the summer, the club expands beyond the four walls, hosting a summer concert series in the club’s “backyard,” with an outdoor stage venue set up with a 6,000 capacity.
This is the fifth season for the Summer Stage Concert Series. This year, while the event has always been a general admission venue, a new section of stadium-style seating has been introduced with limited reserve seating available.
“Dedicated fans and their continued support year after year has helped the season grow beyond expectations,” notes promoter Live Nation’s SVP Sean Striegel. “We have taken a new approach to presenting these amazing concerts at the beach to take the 2014 season to a new level.”
For the season, the concert production team of Asbury Audio has chosen the RCF TTL55-A line array system for the concert series. The system will feature 16 TTL55-A three-way line array modules comprised of two 12” low-frequency, one 10” midrange and three 1.5” neodymium compression drivers flown eight per side. 9 TTS-56A 6800-watt double 21” subwoofers set up in cardioid format will be groundstacked for low frequency support.
Asbury Audio owner Jason Dermer is excited about the upcoming season that includes Lynyrd Skynyrd (June 14), Drive-By Truckers (June 27), Primus (June 28), Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes (July 3), Michael Franti & Spearhead (July 17), 311 (July 18), Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, Blues Traveler & Uncle Kracker (July 25), The Dirty Heads & Pepper (July 26), The Offspring, Bad Religion & Pennywise (August 1), Slightly Stoopid (August 3) and Umphrey’s McGee (August 10).
Founded in 2006, Asbury Audio provides sound reinforcement, rigging and staging, backline, lighting and video for many of the Asbury Park facilities including The Stone Pony, The Wonderbar, Watermark Lounge, Paramount Theater, Asbury Park Convention Center and events along the boardwalk.
