Florida’s Stage Equipment And Lighting (SEAL) Takes Delivery of Two grandMA dot2 core Compact Lighting Consoles

Stage Equipment And Lighting (SEAL) has purchased two grandMA dot2 core lighting consoles to serve as demo units in both its Miami and Orlando offices.  A.C.T Lighting, Inc. is the exclusive distributor of grandMA products in North America.

For more than 45 years, SEAL has been a full-line stocking dealership for all major manufacturers of entertainment lighting.  It offers rental equipment through SEAL Rentals.

Part of MA Lighting’s new range of compact dot2 consoles, the dot2 core is designed for small- to medium-sized productions – theater, concert touring, corporate projects, television and education – with up to 4,096 control channels.  Dot2 core is durable and lightweight with intuitive operation.  It includes a full programming section, master playback section, six fader playbacks and 12 individual playback buttons.  Two built-in touchscreens and support for one external touchscreen ensure the dot2 core has the flexible hardware required for almost any kind of show.

“We’d typically have dot2 core available for rental, but we set them aside as demo units because people want to see these desks,” says Rick Rudolph, Executive Vice President of SEAL.  “We want to get them in the hands of users and buyers – houses of worship, high schools and colleges.  They can look at dot2 core in our offices or bring it to their facility and demo it at a Sunday service, for example.  We’re really big on driving sales and rentals through this process.  When you get users exposed to the MA platform early, they will be users for life.”

Rudolph calls the innovative dot2 core “an awesome product; conceptually it’s fantastic.  Programmers have told me it’s a winner.  The fact that it furnishes help along the way is remarkable – onboard Help and Direct Hints guide a new user to operate the console to its full potential.”

Brian Dowd, vice president of sales and marketing at A.C.T Lighting, adds, “We’re thrilled that SEAL has gotten behind the dot2.  They are a great company who knows how to identify the market for our newest console and knows how to introduce it to that market.  We look forward to their success with this program.”

Rudolph, who serves a chair of the PLASA Foundation, is also enthused about A.C.T Lighting being a partner in the organization’s Behind the Scenes Pledge-a-Product program. Behind the Scenes provides financial assistance to entertainment technology professionals who are seriously ill or injured.  A.C.T plans to donate a portion of the profits from sales of the dot2 range to Behind the Scenes.

“It’s exciting that A.C.T has decided to join the Pledge-a-Product program with the dot2,” he says.  “I’m just delighted about the addition of this new product line to an extremely important program.”
