Fore! MontHill Golf & Country Club Utilize VIVOTEK Security Solutions

Case Study – Feb. 4, 2020

Background

The goal of Caledonia, Ontario, Canada’s MontHill Golf and Country Club is to become one of the premier clubs in the region. Its 27-hole golf course has some of the nicest manicured greens in the area. With three different nine-hole courses, golfers have the opportunity to mix and match their plays in order to enjoy a unique experience with every visit. This state-of-the-art facility opened their golfing season with a sports bar, steakhouse, indoor golf simulators, and up to four banquet halls; thus, making it a year-round functioning club.

Challenge

The purpose of the security installation was to provide peace of mind for the club’s owners, staff, and its patrons during the day or night, year-round, and in and around the large clubhouse and surrounding areas.

Since the property is so large and requires both inside and outside monitoring of the perimeter, installing a security system that could work within the complexity of the installation while withstanding the harsh Canadian winter, typical of the province of Ontario, was most ideal.

Solution

True Vision Security Solutionz chose VIVOTEK and a total of 74 of its indoor and outdoor security solutions to monitor MontHill Golf and Country Club. In the end, the outcome not only met, but surpassed their expectations and goals.

For indoor monitoring, True Vision Security Solutionz installed 30 of VIVOTEK’s FD8369A-V easy-to-use fixed dome network cameras. Specifically designed for outdoor security applications but also functional indoors, it utilizes a 2MP sensor of 1920×1080 at a smooth 30 fps. Dynamic and highly adaptable, the FD8369A-V features a removable IR- cut filter as well as IR illuminators effective up to 30 meters for superior image quality around the clock.

For outdoors, 34 VIVOTEK FD8379-HV outdoor-ready IR fixed dome cameras had been installed. With a 4MP sensor offering and equipped with WDR Pro technology, the FD8379-HV provides improved visibility and provided excellent quality video in high contrast environments.

For the parking lot, five of VIVOTEK’s most versatile product offerings to date were chosen- the multi-adjustable camera, MA8391-ETV. The MA8391-ETV provides high resolution images through four independent sensors, with each sensor utilizing a remote focus lens.

By having each sensor independent of each other, the MA8391-ETV can view four different regions simultaneously and therefore reduces the total number of cameras needed for surveillance, helping to reduce total installation time and costs.

Also being utilized are an indoor 360 degree FE9181-H H.265 fisheye fixed dome network camera to cover the pro shop, outdoor-ready 360 degree H.265 fisheye fixed dome network camera FE9382-EHV for the balcony, and three dual sensor designed 8MP panoramic network cameras MS9390-HV for surveillance of the valet parking.

All devices were managed by VIVOTEK’s video management software, VAST2. It offers intuitive user interface and Smart Search II functionality, allowing users to quickly search for specific objects.

Customer Feedback

After six months of using VIVOTEK products, the feedback received from the owners was that their newly installed video surveillance system not only met, but exceeded expectations. They now have confidence that everyone attending their MontHill Golf and Country Club is ensured reliable surveillance and safety.
