Sacramento, California, July 30, 2015 – The Glenwood School of Sacramento, California prides itself on staying on the cutting edge of technology to enable its teachers to provide the most effective and engaging solution possible. With this in mind, the 500-student elementary school recently added Hitachi CP-TW3003 interactive 3LCD projectors to each of its classrooms.
With skylights in most of its classrooms, the Glenwood School needed a projector that did not require ceiling mounting and excessive cabling.
With the short-throw technology, the staff at Glenwood is able to mount the projectors above the whiteboards in each room to free up space where the carts were previously stationed. “Glenwood was in need of an update to its presentation systems,” said Adam VeVea, Technology Specialist for the Glenwood School. “We decided on the Hitachi interactive short-throw projectors to eliminate the issues of dangling cables and cumbersome projector carts.”
The projectors are being used in combination with teachers’ computers, tablets, and document cameras. The teachers are using the interactive whiteboards to present information and interact with the students using their curriculum software. The Glenwood School is constantly finding new ways to incorporate the technology into the classroom curriculum.
The response from the teachers has been nothing put positive. “My projector is quiet, reliable, and on the ceiling,” said Elaine Cooper, a 4th grade teacher at Glenwood. “I love using the pen to overlay different objects and documents on top of one another.”
Not only has the teacher response been positive but the students at Glenwood have loved the upgrade as well. “The students have been so positive about the projectors because we don’t have to spend a lot of time waiting for them to warm up or for me to hook up the equipment,” explained 6th grade teacher Lina Tran. “I use the ‘magic pen’ often in math and it really gets them engaged and interacting with the content.”
