H-P Products Announces Slew of User-Friendly Updates to Popular Hide-A-Hose System

The new HS5000 space-saving retractable hose system is easier to install and operate, all hidden behind a smaller, low-profile valve door

Louisville, OH – October 27, 2015 – H-P Products will now be offering a new model of the popular Hide-A-Hose retractable hose management system that provides whole-house cleaning convenience when paired with their central vacuum power units. Hide-A-Hose stores up to 50’ of central vacuum hose in in-wall tubing and automatically retracts back after the user is done cleaning. The new HS5000 valve, manufactured in the USA, has seven new user-friendly features that allow for easier installation and operation.

To address user concerns that the valve doors were too large and took up too much wall space, the new valve door on the HS5000 is 38% smaller. Measuring just 4.4” by 6.3”, the new valves are unobtrusive, but still allow for easy access to the central vacuum hose.

After the user pulls out the hose to their desired length, they simply flip the switch on the improved hose-locking system to keep the hose from being pulled back into the tubing before they are done cleaning. Updates were made to the switch and hose lock themselves, to make the locking mechanism smoother and more efficient.

To keep convenience and ease-of-use a priority, the HS5000 also features a new mini cuff so that the hose can connect directly to popular cleaning tools like dusting brushes and upholstery tools without the use of a handle.

When the system is ready to tackle dirt and dander, the HS5000 has an improved on/off switch located in an easy to reach position. Its updated design allows for quick turn on/off and users won’t need to fumble around looking for the switch on the inside of the valve. Once they have the system on, the user doesn’t have to worry about missing a single crumb because of the enhanced rubber door seal that ensures optimum suction throughout the entire system every time it’s used.

For dealers, the HS5000 makes the installation process easier than ever with a new rough-in kit that includes the same products, only 38% smaller. The new model also solves thick wall issues that many installers faced before. The curve in tubing on the HS5000 allows adjustments for walls up to 1.5 inches thick, which allows for systems to be put in homes they could never be in before.

“The original Hide-A-Hose system has been one of the most popular central vacuum add-ons since its debut several years ago because of its performance and ability to keep the hose out of sight,” said Sarah Busch, marketing manager for H-P Products. “All of these new user-friendly updates have just make the system more efficient and powerful, in a smaller, unobtrusive package.”
