REDONDO BEACH, California – Celebrating the Spring Festival of Colors, Holi On The Beach is a community event that engages a culturally diverse range of attendees with dance and music provided by a DJ and supported with HARMAN’s JBL Professional SRX800 Series portable loudspeakers. The event took place on March 7 at the seaside lagoon of Redondo Beach, and was hosted by the Association for India’s Development (AID) non-profit group.
Providing grassroots relief directly and through partner organizations to marginalized communities of India, AID is at the forefront of the fight against displacement, corruption and human rights violations. It also plays an active role in the development of health, education and energy initiatives.
“An essential part of Holi On The Beach is that people love to dance and have a great time, so it is vital that the sound can travel long distances and provide high volume levels without compromising the broad and open space,” said Karan Sahni, Fundraising Coordinator of the AID LA-OC chapter.
Friends, family and strangers were united at an event where high-quality sound was critical to the atmosphere, and so the PA system featured two SRX815P powered loudspeakers and two JBL SRX818SP powered subwoofers, split evenly between each side of the DJ station to maximize the sound across the venue.
“The setup was quick and painless, and it only took the DJ and a couple volunteers to do it within a few minutes,” said Sahni. “We were expecting the installation of the DJ equipment and the loudspeakers to be difficult considering the venue was an open, un-level area with no immediate access to a power source. But to our surprise, it was quick and easy, and we had no compatibility problems at all. After the initial sound check, we were sure the sound was going to be perfect for the venue.”
After receiving feedback from guests, the AID LA-OC chapter concluded that the music and sound quality were one of the highlights of the event, and it is recommending the same sound system for similar events in the future.
“Other than the great sound, we liked the way the loudspeakers and subwoofers are designed in a way that makes it very easy to install them at any venue. This was a big plus for us as event setup can get extremely stressful, but the JBL equipment eased a lot of our anxiety,” said Sahni.
