Hawaii’s Twilight Audio Chooses Martin Audio WPC

Twilight Audio, a multifaceted pro audio company located in Kapolei on the island of Oahu, Hawaii that specializes in live events, touring sound, rentals and smart home automation networking and security systems, recently acquired a Martin Audio WPC system and SXH218 subs.

Founded in 2001 by Chris Childress with the intent to “create better sounding club venues and events with professional audio reinforcement,” Twilight Audio is now a growing force in terms of recording, mastering, audio installs and live sound reinforcement in Hawaii.”

As Chris explains, “after checking out several brands, we finally made the right choice to purchase 16 Martin Audio WPC line array cabinets and six SXH218. We wanted a PA system that would set Twilight apart from everyone else in Hawaii and propel us in the right direction.

“We plan to mainly use the system for smaller concerts,” he continues, “starting out small and working up to larger venues as we build our clientele. WPC’s scalable resolution gives us a lot of flexibility in terms of the size of venues and the ability to vary the coverage and control over different distances.

“At this point, I’m focused on promoting the system via word of mouth and targeting venues like the Hawaii Convention Center for corporate events to help bring in revenue for the company.

“We’ve rigged the system and it’s nothing like I’ve ever heard in Hawaii in terms of balanced, even coverage. You can walk the entire room and it’s not too loud in the front or too soft in the back––the sound is really even and balanced throughout the space.

As it turns out, Chris recently deployed WPC for two events, the Miss Hawaii USA Pageant and the Metta EDM Festival. For both events, Twilight rigged four stacked WPC per side on scaffolding with six ground-stacked SXH218 and four Martin Audio DD6 for stage fills.

Not surprisingly, he’s pleased with the way things turned out: “I was amazed by the system’s overall clarity and balance in two very different applications. How the system operated with seamless audience coverage was something I’d never heard before and in short was exceptional. Needless to say, the clients were very happy.”
