It’s Award Time for Metric Halo: “AES Best of Show” and TEC Nomination Heralds Metric Halo’s 3d Interface Technology for Both New and Existing Interfaces

SAFETY HARBOR, FLORIDA: Brothers B.J. and Joe Buchalter and their team of engineers have been hard at work for years perfecting the “3d” connectivity-technology in support of Metric Halo’s new and existing ULN-8, LIO-8, ULN-2, and 2882 interfaces, and their efforts have been recognized with an “AES Best of Show” from Mix Magazine and a TEC Award nomination. Metric Halo 3d allows zero-latency multi-box aggregation of up to 128 channels, support for EdgeCards (including MADI, ADAT and MIDI), modern USB connectivity, integrated DSP resources, and a mega-slew of additional design features too multifarious to mention here.

Importantly, 3d not only ships on new Metric Halo interfaces, but the company provides an upgrade program for all of its existing interfaces. That means that even Metric Halo 2882s built in 2001 (the world’s first 96k FireWire interface) are still up and running with the very latest in connectivity and performance enhancements! Metric Halo’s futureproof approach not only protects its users’ investments, it minimizes e-waste and provides a model for a more sustainable “circular” economy in which companies take responsibility not just for the production of products, but for their full lifecycle as well.

Metric Halo 3d earned an “AES Best of Show” from Mix after editors/reviewers Mike Levine, Steve La Cerra, and Barry Rudolph walked the floor at AES 2019 in October selecting products that stood out for their vision and practicality. The more formal TEC Award nomination is specifically for the Metric Halo ULN-8 3d, the company’s flagship interface and the standard-bearer for the new 3d technology. “We’re very pleased to have our 3d technology acknowledged with these honors,” said B.J. Buchalter at Metric Halo. “It has been a labor of love for many years. We even skipped a few trade shows while we were focused on building the functionality we wanted going forward with the kind of rock-solid reliability that audio professionals require and that Metric Halo is famous for.”
