January 29, 2025 – LAIA Technologies North America today announced the launch of three major PTZ camera lines for U.S. customers, the first full American offerings of its innovative solutions that have been proven in AV applications worldwide. The line-up now includes new models with new functionality. The AI-enabled cameras feature industry breakthroughs that enable smoother auto-tracking and easier system integration into AV ecosystems without the need for expensive hardware or software add-ons or custom programming.
The three PTZ camera lines from LAIA now available to American customers are the C-Pro, Broadcaster, and Broadcaster Pro. At the helm of the new company to serve the U.S. market is pro AV industry veteran Gary Plavin, President, LAIA Technologies North America.
“As the head of LAIA North America,” Plavin explained, “I have great news if you’re looking for PTZ cameras, but you’re confused about the AI hype, and spiraling commissioning costs around AV camera deployments. We’ve leveraged AI and superior optical engineering to make auto-tracking both smoother and more seamless with your other AV ecosystem components, absolutely. But that’s just part of our story. The real breakthrough is that you can upgrade and future-proof your PTZ camera-based systems both more confidently and more inexpensively than ever before. Because with LAIA cameras you get the full optical and tracking performance you want, without the need to buy expensive switching, digital interfaces, or other add-ons, or commission custom programming – that can inflate your system cost before the first video session ques up.”
Anchoring the LAIA C-Pro camera line is the 4K AI model, a proven performer with its wide system compatibility thanks to its multiple connection interfaces and control protocols. The real-time AI-based tracking of the speaker/presenter is enhanced with its unique ISP processing technology and algorithms, and its 12X optical zoom. It’s a great solution for conferences in medium and large rooms. In addition, the impressive 4K UHD image offered by its 1/2s.8″ CMOS sensor of up to 30fps together with its autofocus technology performs flawlessly with moving presenters.
The Broadcaster line: anchoring this lineup is the LAIA Broadcaster 4K AI, with a variety of interfaces that makes it one of the best videoconferencing cameras on the market. Broadcaster 4K AI is perfect for large videoconferencing rooms with a resolution of 4K/30fps. And it’s a NDI (HX-2) licensed camera with unique PTZ design. It’s the ideal camera for live broadcasts from large rooms such as auditoriums, where maximum image quality, mobility and shot adaptation is necessary and essential for the flexibility provided by its 12X hybrid zoom.
And new for the market this year: LAIA is introducing the new family of Broadcaster Pro cameras, designed to meet the growing technical needs in high-demand professional applications, such as corporate AV broadcast facilities, higher education facilities, TV production rooms, auditoriums, houses of worship, judicial facilities, and sports arenas. All cameras in Laia’s Broadcaster Pro family incorporate a powerful 1/1.8″ CMOS sensor offering 4K resolution at 60 fps and 25x optical zoom. Connectivity features multiple interfaces such as HDMI, DUAL 12G-SDI / 3G-SDI, USB 3.0 and LAN. The Broadcaster Pro range includes NDI(HX3) or Dante AV licenses depending on the model. This makes the range stand out for its low latency and superior image quality, ensuring minimum delay and uninterrupted transmission.
Key to LAIA’s value proposition for all camera offerings: LAIA’s game-changing AICC (AI Cam Control) software for much easier integration, and that allows better speaker tracking, ulti-image layout control, and integrating logos on you outputs. And new this year: LAIA’s new IAVS (Intelligent Audio Visual Systems) software that leverages advanced API’s to allow the seamless operation of LAIA cameras with other AV system components such as third party beam forming mics from Nureva, Shure, and Sennheiser – for better audio tracking, and more. The result: reduced integration costs, without sacrificing top-level functionality.
If you’re an AV integrator, or a power end-user, how can you cut through the AI hype and cut to the chase when choosing PTZ cameras? How can you give your team the tools it needs to design and install camera-based AV systems that empower people, while saving everyone inflated initial purchase outlays, and time and expense on too-complex installation?
