Leading Australian Investment Banker and Investor John Wylie Joins Pexip Board of Directors

OSLO, Norway — July 8, 2015 — Pexip(R), a leading innovator in scalable, distributed visual collaboration software, today announced that John Wylie has joined Pexip’s Board of Directors and invested in the company. He joins at the same time as Espen Fjogstad, chairman of Pexip’s leading investor Stavanger Venture. Wylie and Fjogstad will further strengthen Pexip’s board and position the company for future growth and success.

Wylie brings a wealth of experience in venture investments, business management, and leadership worldwide, and will take an active role in the company’s strategic direction through his ownership position and role as a Director of the Board. Wylie was Managing Director of Credit Suisse First Boston Australia from 1994 to 1999, before forming Carnegie Wylie, an investment boutique firm, in 2000 that was acquired by Lazard (NYSE: LAZ) in 2007. He has since served as CEO of Lazard Australia until he stepped down in 2014 to form a new investment firm. Many governments and leading companies in Australia and around the world have sought Wylie’s advice. Wylie is also passionate about sports and currently holds the position as Chairman of the Australian Sports Commission among several others.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome John to the Pexip team,” said Simen Teigre, CEO and Co-founder of Pexip. “His incredible track record speaks for itself. His leadership skills and business acumen have been instrumental in the success of major financial projects and privatizations of companies around the world, as well as helped numerous startups to become great successes over the years. We look forward to his guidance as we continue to grow Pexip into a global force within the visual communications and enterprise collaboration marketplace.”

“I am very impressed by the vision, the people, the technology, and innovative culture of Pexip,” said Wylie. “The company’s growth since its inception just three years ago has been equally remarkable. I am a firm believer that Pexip is ready to take its market presence to the next level and look forward to playing a direct role in its success. The company has developed the world’s best and most innovative video technology. My decision to invest in Pexip to further fuel its fast growth was an easy one. Pexip is experiencing strong momentum in the market, signing up more than 150 new enterprise customers in the first half of 2015 alone, growing its recurring revenue at a rate of more than 300 percent. Its clients include several of the world’s largest and most influential companies.”

Wylie was elected a board member of Pexip on June 22. At the same time, he made an equity investment of USD 5 million in the company through a private placement, taking the total equity raised by Pexip to USD 30 million.

Concurrently, Espen Fjogstad was elected to Pexip’s Board of Directors. Fjogstad brings a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship and venture investments, having been a founding member of numerous successful companies such as Global IP Sound (acquired by Google(R) in 2010), Sonorit (acquired by Skype(TM)/eBay in 2006, Telio (listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE) in 2006) and CrudeCorp (listed on OSE in 2012). Through Stavanger Venture, Fjogstad has been the leading investor in Pexip since its inception in 2012. Electing Fjogstad to serve on the Board of Directors formalizes the already strong relationship, and greatly contributes to position Pexip for future success, enabling the company to capitalize on his formidable experience.
