Magenta Research Announces the World‘s Most Integrated Digital Video Signal Switching and Extension System

The new Infineaâ„¢ Opto Matryxâ„¢ combines HDMI, DVI, RS-232, Audio and USB into a simple, scalable platform

Orlando, Florida, June 15, 2009 – Magenta Research, a recognized leader in video, audio and control signal distribution over structured cabling, is introducing its full matrix, digital video switching platform at the 2009 InfoComm exposition.

Both scalable and field upgradeable, the Infinea Opto Matryx boasts an unprecedented number of signal types per input and output. These include uncompressed 1080p/60 & 1920×1200 digital video, stereo audio, bidirectional RS-232 and USB. The unique USB switching and extension capability on every input and output—an industry first—enables a new wave of interactive digital signage applications by supporting Human Input Devices (HID) such as keyboards, mice and touch screens.

The Opto Matryx’s configurable, building-block chassis design utilizes factory or field upgradeable I/O modules and Magenta’s patent-pending inter-frame cascading capability to enable matrix dimensions from 8×8 to 96×80. This scalable architecture delivers both flexibility and affordability by minimizing initial capital costs while ensuring future expansion capability. Alternatively, the switch can be configured for highly asymmetric configurations such as 128×8 and 32×160.

The Opto Matryx further combines full matrix switching with long range extension, supporting a variety of output connectivity options including native connector support or signal extension support over fiber optic and/or UTP cabling.

“The addition of such a unique digital switching platform to Magenta’s world renowned lineup is very exciting for us as well as our customers,”? said Magenta Research President Bob Michaels. “With Opto Matryx, AV distribution, display management and remote interactivity can now be seamlessly integrated into future-proof digital signage and Pro-AV applications.

The Infinea Opto Matryx will be on display in Magenta’s booth #3961.
