MANILA’S WILDSOUND STUDIOS LAUNCH WSDG DOLBY MIXING SUITE

MANILA, PHILIPPINES: WildSound Studios has a 12-year track record as one of the Philippines’ most creative sound and location recording companies.

WildSound Studios recently completed a world class Dolby Atmos® audio mixing studio for their film and video production clients. Accomplished recording engineers with multiple feature film and commercial credits, company owners Mike Idioma and Tony Tuviera found an ideal space in Quezon City’s Sampaguita Pictures Compound, and reached out to WSDG -Walters-Storyk Design Group to create a state-of-the-art mixing theater.

WSDG Brazil partner Renato Cipriano met with Mike Idioma to discuss the new studio. The WildSound team envisioned a spacious mixing theater with a large screen, multi format projection, an expansive mixing desk, comfortable seating and absolutely impeccable acoustics.  In addition to superb technical qualifications, the 640 sq. ft. room with an 11’ high ceiling mixing room had to have a cutting edge – aesthetically pleasing atmosphere.

Emblazoned with deep red fabric covered walls and ceiling acoustic panels, and a handsome natural wood rear wall resonator, the WildSound Mixing Suite is a vibrant workplace.  Seven banks of Dolby-certified, Atmos speakers set in groupings of four each on the side and rear walls and two ceiling mounted quartet banks, provide the room with impeccable surround sound reproduction.  The mixing desk features an Avid Icon D -Control ES 32 faders console and, a 203” x 100” – 240” diagonal perforated screen.  The plush red fabric client couch was set on a 3” high platform in front of the desk and well within the mixing area sweet spot. WildSound also offers services sound effect design, Foley, localization and synching services.

“WildSound is considered as one of the Philippines’ most creative and technically advanced sound recording and mixing companies,” Renato Cipriano remarked.  “Their credits include numerous award-winning films. This new Dolby Atmos Mixing Suite represents an important step in their continuing growth. WSDG is delighted to have helped them create this impeccable room, and we are currently developing TVJ Stage, a second (and larger) 1480 sq. ft. film mixing suite to accommodate their growing client base.”

“We had an outstanding experience with WSDG,” Mike Idioma concludes.  “Their design met all our requirements for a handsome room with extraordinary acoustics.   Our initial broadcast and cinema clients have been extremely pleased with the work they’ve mixed here, and word is spreading throughout the Philippines that we have one, if not the best of the best facilities in the country.”
