Matrox at NAB 2018 — Product Preview

MONTREAL — 28 March 2018 — At NAB 2018, Matrox® (booth SL4524) will present a comprehensive range of products designed to impact today’s—and tomorrow’s—broadcast and enterprise workflows.

Being unveiled for the first time in North America is the Monarch LCS Radar application for simple, centralized monitoring of multiple Monarch LCS units. The Monarch LCS and Monarch LCS Radar combination will be featured alongside the complete portfolio of Monarch streaming and recording appliances. A new multi-4K SMPTE ST 2110 network card will also be premiered at the show, while the latest 3G/12G SDI and M264 H.264 codec boards will highlight unrivaled SDI I/O versatility and 4Kp60 encoding/decoding density, respectively. In addition, the Maevex 6150 quad 4K enterprise encoder for streaming and recording and the Extio 3 IP KVM extender for extension and switching will likewise be on display.

Debuting in this year’s IP Showcase (booth C12634), Matrox will have its latest SMPTE ST 2110 network cards highlighting interoperability in today’s HD and emerging 4K/UHD workflows.

Featured Products:
Matrox Monarch LCS lecture capture appliances include flexible inputs (SDI/HDMI or HMDI/HDMI), simplified mixing with integrated production layouts (picture-in-picture or side-by-side), and synchronized dual-encoding allowing for multi-stream playback, putting layout control in the hands of the viewer. The easy-to-use Matrox Monarch LCS Radar centralized monitoring application allows IT administrators to monitor campus-wide deployments of Monarch LCS appliances easily from one intuitive dashboard.

Matrox Monarch HDX dual-channel H.264 encoders feature 3G-SDI and HDMI inputs with frame synchronization to compensate for any discontinuity at the source. A versatile appliance, Monarch HDX is ideal for demanding broadcast workflows, including webcasting to YouTube or Facebook Live while simultaneously streaming or recording to a second location.

Matrox’s upcoming multi-4K SMPTE ST 2110 network card will expand the IP capabilities of the X.mio3 and DSX LE4 family lines, already the industry’s most diverse selection of SMPTE ST 2110 and SDI I/O hardware for OEMs. The current collection of ST 2110-compliant IP cards boasts multi-channel, IP-encapsulated HD and 3G video I/O with onboard video processing, while the versatile range of SDI cards features up to 12 reconfigurable inputs and outputs, supporting SDI, 3G SDI, and 12G SDI for SD through 4K/UHD resolutions.

Matrox M264 cards offer unprecedented H.264 encoding and decoding of up to three streams of 4Kp60 XAVC/AVC Ultra at 4:2:2 10-bit, ideal for multi-channel 4K production servers in a PC platform. Matrox DSX Core media-centric software modules meanwhile, enable OEMs to create virtualized, software-only broadcast solutions running on COTS machines—that can be easily repurposed as needed.

Matrox Extio 3 IP KVM extenders deliver unmatched 4Kp60 4:4:4 or quad 1080p60 4:4:4 performance at low-bitrates over a standard GbE network. Extio 3 cards and appliances work with commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) network switches and significantly diminishes the total cost of ownership to deliver a scalable KVM matrix switching solution.

Matrox Maevex 6150 quad 4K enterprise encoders allow for the simultaneous capture, streaming, and recording of up to four 4K inputs. The powerful all-in-one appliance can feed on-premises and cloud-based servers to reach internet viewers, push many streams over LAN for local audiences, and record to local or network storage for later editing and viewing, concurrently.
