Meridian Audio Announces Series of Powerful Performance Enhancements

Meridian Audio’s research team has announced a series of powerful performance enhancements to the company’s most advanced products such as the 808 Signature Reference Compact Disc Player and 861 Reference Digital Surround Controller. Meridian has also upgraded the performance of the DSP7200 Digital Active Loudspeaker with new DSP developments including a new psychoacoustically-based feature to allow the adjustment of image height in home theater applications.

Meridian has developed numerous unique technologies over the past 35 years, setting standards for the rest of the industry to follow, in constant pursuit of perfection in sound and image reproduction.

808 Signature Reference CD Player

The Compact Disc still offers the widest music catalog and exceptional quality – particularly if replayed through the highest class system. Meridian was an early leader in CD playback technology, and Meridian’s 808 delivers on the ultimate promise of the Compact Disc. This latest edition 808 includes improved technology and components that enhance audio quality in a number of areas. There is also a plate commemorating 30 years of the format along with the signatures of Meridian’s co-founders.

861 Reference Digital Surround Controller

Meridian invented the digital surround-sound controller, and the highest expression of the art of surround-sound is provided by the latest edition of the 861 Reference Digital Surround Controller. With unparalleled surround-sound playback capabilities, the new version of this product includes improved technology in a number of areas and the addition of brand new features such as the ability to manage center-channel height imaging in conjunction with the new DSP7200HC loudspeaker.

DSP7200 Digital Active Loudspeaker and DSP7200HC Horizontal Center

The DSP7200 has been a popular part of the Meridian Digital Active Loudspeaker range since its introduction in 2007. Now with improved technology and components, it provides even purer audio performance, while new DSP developments provide additional features including innovative music modes and, in the Horizontal Center version, a new proprietary, psychoacoustically-based feature called Center Elevation, that allows the adjustment of image height in home cinema applications – delivering a truly seamless experience when integrated into the Meridian Digital Theater system.
