Meyer Sound will be launching a new point source loudspeaker at ISE 2019, booth 1-M90.
Meyer Sound’s booth will feature two product updates, a versatile IntelligentDC power supply, and an updated UPQ loudspeaker series, plus the unveiling of an entirely new point source loudspeaker design.
The new loudspeaker is based on technologies developed for the LEO Family line arrays, displaying a distinctive driver configuration, new amplifiers, onboard processing, a rotatable horn, innovative rigging options, all in a small size and weight. It will be available for listening demos at the Amsterdam Hilton every hour on February 5 and 6, and will also be showcased by a live performance, controlled by Meyer Sound’s GALAXY-based Spacemap LIVE spatial mixing platform.
“Our new point source loudspeaker is small and powerful and brings the LEO Family power clarity and Native Mode ease of use into a modern, lightweight multi-purpose loudspeaker. It is a perfect solution for applications that need sonic transparency and exceptionally even coverage control,” said senior VP of marketing John McMahon. “We are excited to debut this at ISE. The price point is competitive and we expect this will soon be a must-have in any inventory.”
The ISE stand will be anchored by a Sonic Lounge and will also feature interactive displays depicting R&D and manufacturing at Meyer Sound’s Berkeley campus; a cutaway of a LINA line array loudspeaker; and a media space for Facebook Live interviews.
“At ISE we know that many attendees are looking to discuss in-depth solutions tailored to their needs,” noted McMahon. “By integrating the spacious Sonic Lounge into our stand, and by bringing over more top-level design services and support personnel, we’ll be able to give them the time and attention they deserve.”
The MPS-482HP, a two-channel, half rack-space power supply with audio and 48V DC, is designed to expand on the flexibility and cost-effectiveness of Meyer Sound’s IntelligentDC remotely self-powered systems.
The UPQ series has been developed with the new UPQ-D3 model, which offers a third 80° x 80° coverage option and brings to the series a new class D amplifier module. With the two current models now designed at UPQ-D1 and UPQ-D2, the new module provides optimised phase and frequency response and reduces the overall weight by more than 12 percent. The brand’s new USW-210P 12-inch compact subwoofer will also be displayed.
