Miris spatial streaming platform adds support for glTF intake

Culver City, CA, July 21, 2026 – 3D streaming infrastructure provider Miris today announced glTF intake, including the binary .glb form, to its spatial streaming platform. The update lets developers point existing glTF export pipelines at Miris and begin conditioning assets for adaptive streaming, without reformatting them first. glTF joins OpenUSD as a supported intake format. Teams can upload assets at the fidelity they want to ship, and Miris streams them adaptively so the authored detail is preserved at ingest rather than stripped in advance.
“glTF has been the practical delivery format for real-time and web 3D for years, but teams routinely have to shrink files to load them fast enough. The version users see trades fidelity for delivery speed,” said Miris CTO Sean Looper. “This update lets teams bring those assets to Miris at the fidelity they authored and hand the delivery problem to us. They stop choosing between how good an asset looks and how quickly it arrives.”

 Bring assets at full fidelity: Teams can intake glTF files the fidelity they want to ship instead of decimating geometry and textures in advance. Miris streams adaptively, so a capable device and connection receive close to the full asset, while others get a lower-fidelity stream that refines as more data arrives.

This update expands the set of formats teams can bring to Miris natively. Once an asset is ingested, the platform’s adaptive streaming tailors delivery to each viewer’s device and connection, transmitting only the geometry and texture data needed in real time. Teams submit assets at the ideal fidelity and let delivery adapt, rather than decimating files in advance to fit a fixed size budget. It stays simple and cost-effective for organizations to enhance their applications with high-fidelity 3D.
