XD600U Packed with User-Friendly Features that Shines Brightly to Capture Your Audience’s Attention
IRVINE, Calif., June 15, 2009 — Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division, known for award-winning, high-quality, high-definition presentation and display products, expands its projector product line-up with a series of new portable projectors that weigh less than eight pounds and blast over 4,000 lumens. The XD600U is the first in Mitsubishi’s new family of high-brightness projectors and will make its debut at InfoComm 2009 in Orlando. This XGA-resolution projector blasts 4500 lumens of brightness from its remarkably long-life lamp, estimated to last up to 5000* hours under normal operating conditions in low mode.

The Mitsubishi XD600U is the first projector in Mitsubishi’s line designed with the latest DDP2230 and DLP LinkA® chipset, making it 3D-ready for three-dimensional display content. The projector supports a 3D experience when users input and display their 3D content and watch the display with optional DLP Link-compatible 3D glasses.
Mitsubishi’s new XD600U projector is designed for both education users as well as business professionals, offering a 10-watt speaker and audio mix capability, closed captioning decoder, a visual public addressing (PA) feature, user-friendly menus, and low cost–of-ownership. This combination of audio-visual features can help make presenting and teaching more effective thanks to technology that is easy to set up and use.
This new projector includes a built-in RJ-45 port for remote operation and management over a LAN, WAN or the Internet. The status of multiple projectors, remote operation of the on/off power switch, image input switch and other functions can be monitored with Mitsubishi’s ProjectorView Global+ technology.
Simultaneous real-time Message Display via the new Visual PA feature allows an administrator to remotely create and distribute messages in real time to projectors connected to the LAN. This is ideal for broadcasting important information to multiple rooms across campus and can be useful as part of an emergency management system.
A top-loading lamp design allows users to replace lamps simply and easily, whether the projector is mounted in the ceiling or sitting on a desktop. The new XD600U projector includes dual 15-pin computer inputs as well as S-video and RCA video inputs. It also comes with HDMIâ„¢ inputs for digital sources so users can switch between a computer presentation and video with just the press of a button.
Mitsubishi’s new projector is designed with two separate 3.5mm audio inputs and two RCA audio inputs, as well as a 3.5mm variable audio output used to control volume levels. It also has a special built-in audio mixer so the projector can simultaneously project audio from two sources, such as a DVD and a third-party wireless microphone. This “Audio Mix”? feature allows users to adjust the volume levels of each input for its 10W built-in speaker. With the projector in this configuration, an instructor or presenter can orally interject key points during a presentation and be heard over the video.
When the speaker is not in use, the projector has an ultra-hushed noise level of only 29 dBA in low mode; students hear an instructor and not the annoying hum of a fan. The projectors also offers closed captioning from a supported source. With the touch of a button, the built-in decoder transforms words into subtitles projected on the screen, an important function for hearing-impaired students.
To lessen the impact on our natural resources, Mitsubishi has engineered energy-efficient, earth-friendly features into all of its new projector models. Its projectors are built with lead-free solder, consume less than one watt of power when in low standby mode, and are paint-free.
The XD600U, which uses Texas Instruments’ DLPA® technology, provides a 2000:1 contrast ratio for darker blacks and continues Mitsubishi’s commitment to filter-free technology with its semi-sealed design that helps decrease dust accumulation. The projector also features a five-segment color wheel with BrilliantColorA® technology, which creates clear, vivid images from a computer or video signal.
Mitsubishi’s new projector has important security features with password menu and display locks, plus an anti-theft hook design that can lock the projector in place to help deter theft. It has an RS232 connection for compatibility with third party control devices and support for a computer loop-out for external monitor display.
This new model includes intelligent digital auto-keystone support for easy, automated picture adjustments, and the instant shut off feature allows users to power down the projectors quickly without damage to the unit. This enables a quick exit after class or a meeting for more efficient scheduling of classrooms and conference rooms.

Pricing, Availability, Warranty
Mitsubishi offers government, education and non-profit discount pricing for its projectors through its network of authorized Mitsubishi dealers. The XD600U is targeted for third quarter availability. The XD600U projector comes with Mitsubishi’s three-year limited warranty on parts and labor plus a one-year limited warranty on the lamp. The XD600U projector is also covered by Mitsubishi’s award-winning three-year Express Replacement Assistance (ERA) Program, a nationwide comprehensive service provided for units under warranty that offers next business-day replacement for down units.
