Blackmagic Design today announced that Motion Magic, one of China’s leading television production facilities, installed Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve color correction system and Compact Videohub routers to complete post production work on “China’s Got Talent”.
As the post production studio designated for “China’s Got Talent”, Motion Magic has been providing its full range of services for the Chinese version of the popular reality show since its first episode. Motion Magic formed a specific project team consisting of its best editors, graphic designers, colorists and system designers and created a sophisticated post production workflow for “China’s Got Talent”, offering exceptional creative and technical services for the hit program.
To support a post production solution ideal for “China’s Got Talent”, Motion Magic renovated its facility by installing a brand new full HD production workflow, featuring DaVinci Resolve and two Compact Videohubs.
“Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve offers great features and performance at an affordable price, and uses an open architecture compatible with a wide range of third party hardware components, which is essential for color grading for television,” said Rick Lee, Supervisor of System Department, Motion Magic.
He continued: “DaVinci Resolve has contributed a lot to ‘China’s Got Talent’, as its real time performance and Power Mastering are great time savers for TV shows on a tight schedule such as ‘China’s Got Talent’. Also, noise reduction helps us easily eliminate noise instead of enhancing both useful and useless information. Beyond ‘China’s Got Talent’, we are also now beginning to use Resolve to grade new features and documentaries.”
Motion Magic also installed two Blackmagic Design Compact Videohub 40 x 40 routers, to replace their previous manual patching boards, for all video connections and switching. Lee said, “Video routers are the heart of a machine room, which means they must be extremely reliable. Blackmagic Design’s Compact Videohub is affordable and incredibly reliable. What’s more, with Compact Videohub, we can now simply manage switching on an Apple iPad or in front of a computer without manual patching, eliminating cable impairments and signal interferences, which is a leap in convenience and technology.”
