Networked audio for the price of a conventional 70/100V distributed audio system
Overland Park, Kan. – May 5, 2020 – MSE Audio, parent company of SoundTube Entertainment, Soundsphere, dARTS, Phase Technology, Induction Dynamics, SolidDrive and Rockustics, releases applications for the SoundTube IPD Hub 2 DSP Amplifier that shows integrators how to create a Dante®-enabled system without a traditional DSP. The IPD Hub 2 is now shipping globally.
SoundTube’s IPD Hub 2 amplifier is a 2-channel Dante amp with DSP built-in. The amp is AES67 compatible and powered by PoE, PoE+ or 40W PoE. It includes an RJ45 Ethernet connection and can be used with Radio Design Labs Format A (RDL) or Attero Tech Axiom line level, mic level, balanced XLR or Bluetooth input devices – stereo or mono, virtually any input.
The beauty of the IPD Hub 2 Amplifier is that integrators can create a complete Dante-enabled audio system with SoundTube RVC-1 controls without using a traditional DSP. Using a decentralized DSP amplifier in each zone rather than a centralized DSP greatly reduces hardware costs making an IPD-HUB 2 networked audio system about the same price as a conventional 70/100V distributed audio system.
Designed for small to medium-sized applications including bars, restaurants, hospitality, education facilities and more, the IPD HUB 2 Amplifier can be linked together to distribute audio over large spaces or set up to operate in up to eight zones.
This is a typical application for a mid-size restaurant with a Dante main feed, five zones and local inputs in four zones. RVCs control two preset Dante and a local source with priority ducking in all zones. To download the image, click here.
Another good application for the IPD Hub 2 is for a classroom or performing arts dressing room with a Dante main feed and a local input. The RVC control can be set to switch between the local and Dante inputs with priority ducking in the room. To download the image, click here.
“Value is a big consideration on many projects,” said Ken Hecht, vice president of MSE Audio. “The IPD Hub 2 gives integrators Dante-compatible design options that provide a high-tech solution at low-tech prices. We invite our integrators to reach out with their application needs.”
