SSF™ Rugged Micro Distribution is constructed using SSF™ Stronger, Safer, Faster fiber optic technology for up to 10,000 times the bend longevity of traditional fiber. Beyond the considerable benefits of SSF™ optical fibers, the entirety of SSF™ Rugged Micro is built for increased durability. The cable features dual jacketing layers, each out of UV-resistant riser rated Indoor/Outoor PVC. Between the inner and outer jacketing, a layer of fiberglass yarns provides additional strength and rodent resistance. Within the inner jacket, a layer of aramid yarns provides water-blocking and acts as an additional strength member.
Despite its multilayer construction, the cable is still extremely compact and flexible, with only a 6.1 mm outer diameter. The small size and flexibility make the cable an excellent solution for ducts and conduit. SSF™ Rugged Micro Distribution also features a fully dielectric construction, making it a strong alternative in situations where an armored cable cannot be installed.
