New Line of Lightware DVI Matrix Switchers Announced for Medical Applications

Lightware U.S.A., the US distributor for Budapest-based Lightware Visual Engineering products, has announced two new lines of enclosures for its entry-level series of standalone DVI matrix switchers, which are designed for conference room, medical, avionics and 3D imaging applications. Upgraded from the SLIM series, the new PLUS models feature an enclosed power supply, and the MED series is rated for medical usage, for the first time.

“The new PLUS and MED versions of switchers offer a simplified, all-in-one solution,” says Blake Dudash in sales and marketing. “But they still provide users with the same slate of features at the same price point as the small-footprint SLIM routers they’ve come to know.”

Lightware’s MX9x9DVI-Plus, MX12x12DVI-Plus and MX16x16DVI-Plus DVI matrix switchers come in 9-, 12- and 16-I/O sizes. Their 7-inch depth, 4 RU-high aluminum alloy body and fan-free design makes them ideal for space and noise-sensitive applications.

The new PLUS and MED Slim series features no switching latency and zero frame delay; 1920×1200 or 2048×1080 maximal resolution; gold-plated PCB boards and connectors; and RS-232, RS-422 and ethernet control. Lightware Slim offers advanced EDID management, Vista Spyder and Barco Encore compatibility, 32 presets and website hosting capabilities. Easy front-panel buttons provide a user-friendly interface.

In addition, the MED series is now available in a white enclosure to blend in with other equipment in medical installations. The PLUS and MED routers will ship later this summer.
