Panamax“s MFP-400 for HD Flat-Panel Displays Honored With 2007 CustomRetailer Exc!te Award

PETALUMA, Calif. — Oct. 30, 2007 —

Panamax/Furman Sound, a world-leading provider of AC power management solutions, today announced that its MFP-400 has been honored with a CustomRetailer Exc!te Award. As a home theater system component, the MFP-400 supplies clean, noise-free power to high-definition (HD) flat-panel displays for enhanced image and sound quality while protecting the system from damaging over/undervoltages. The award was presented at CEDIA EXPO 2007 in Denver on Sept. 6.

CustomRetailer‘s Exc!te Awards pay tribute each year to products that stand out for being innovative, high-performing solutions oriented for the custom installation professional. This year the winners were selected from hundreds of nominations received and judged by the magazine‘s editorial staff. The impact the winning products have on the industry is felt in the installers‘ productivity, the dealers‘ profitability, the clients‘ satisfaction, and the industry‘s vitality.

“We are very proud to receive the Exc!te Award from CustomRetailer for our MFP-400,” said Dave Keller, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Panamax and Furman. “In developing the MFP-400, our objective was to utilize premium power filtration to bring out the best performance from the latest HD displays, with the goal of providing a stunning viewing experience for our customers. We are truly honored to be recognized for our achievement and the effect it is having on the industry.”

Featuring a slimline design that makes it ideal for mounting out of view behind flat-panel displays, the MFP-400 offers power cleaning and premium filtration to eliminate common symptoms of AC line noise, such as loss of detail, pops, hisses, hums, and visual artifacts, and to allow equipment to perform at its full capability for an optimal home theater experience.

For component longevity, Automatic Voltage Monitoring (AVM) circuitry, a patent-pending technology from Panamax, monitors the incoming AC power and disconnects power to connected components in case of an unsafe voltage. Once the voltage returns to safe levels, the MFP-400 restores the power supply to the connected equipment.

Panamax‘s exclusive Protect or Disconnect™ circuitry completely removes the AC power from connected equipment in the event of a catastrophic surge, while integrated coax/sat and telephone/LAN line protection prevents electrical surges that travel over cable, satellite, and antenna lines.

The MFP-400 is available at an MSRP of $199.95.
