Peavey ships Aureus live digital mixer

First announced last summer, Peavey Electronics’ Aureus digital mixer is now shipping, offering a 10’’ multi-touch display and 59 controls.

Meridian, MS (April 12, 2021)—First announced last summer, Peavey Electronics’ Aureus digital mixer is out, offering a 10’’ multi-touch display and 59 dedicated controls providing direct access to most critical functions with a single touch.

The Aureus digital mixer, measuring 6.5’’x15’’x19.5’’ and weighing 16 lbs., offers a selection of presets for channels, EQ, gate, compressor, scenes and shows, and additionally allows users to save and store presets, scenes or even an entire mix onto a USB drive. The onboard dock allows a tablet to be placed as a second screen, so users can monitor the mix while adjusting a specific channel or separate group on the mixer.

In all, the Aureus offers 14 dedicated encoders, 9 motorized faders (100 mm), and 45 dedicated backlit buttons. It can connect to most audio sources via its 16 XLR-1/4’’, RCA, Bluetooth (stereo-long range) and USB (A/B) inputs. Phantom power (48 V) is available for microphones on the 16 channels. There are also 14 outputs, including 10 XLR, USB, and AES digital.

Within the rack-mountable mixer, the Aureus offers a variety of on-board reverbs and delays derived from Peavey’s FX series digital effects (23 effects total across two engines) with simple and advanced modes. The 5-band EQ is fully parametric, and there are 8 busses, 2 mains and 4 DCAs.

Users can mix behind the mixer or nearby with remote control via onboard Wi-Fi. Password-assigned busses allow each musician to not only have their own mix, but also to control it using any device that can open an HTML5 compatible browser. Users can connect up to 10 devices simultaneously to adjust any aspect of the mix.
