PMC Introduces Australian Recording Professionals To Its Flagship Monitoring

The company’s MB3 XBD-A monitors were put through their paces before invited guests at Forbes Street Studios in Sydney.

PMC’s new MB3S XBD-A main monitors were officially unveiled in Australia last week at a special event hosted by Forbes Street Studios in Sydney.

Recording professionals, including engineers from ABC, the Sydney Opera House, Sony Music and Australia’s historic Studios 301, turned out in force to hear this latest addition to PMC’s flagship active main monitor range, which won a Best of Show award when it was introduced at NAMM earlier this year.

PMC product specialist Chris Allen guided attendees through an in-depth demo and discussed the patented technologies that makes PMC speakers the top choice for leading producers, engineers and studios around the world.

“It was an absolute pleasure to meet engineers from both private and leading facilities in Sydney,” he says. “There is such a keen and thriving scene in this region and we were delighted to have the opportunity to demonstrate the MB3S XBD-A monitors and explain the genuinely unique technologies that enable PMC speakers to achieve the clarity, transparency, unparalleled bass and sheer power for which they are renowned. It was also a great opportunity for attendees to see Universal Australia’s new cutting-edge studio. I relished hearing about the active Australian music and production market and am looking forward to working with our partner, Interdyn, to develop PMC’s presence in the region. A massive thanks to Anthony Garvin and Michael Taylor from Forbes Street Studios for having us and arranging such an enjoyable evening.”

Forbes Street Studios (

) also had PMC’s acclaimed TwoTwo nearfield speakers running throughout the facility, giving attendees a chance to hear what smaller PMC loudspeakers are capable of.

Forbes Street Studios manager Anthony Garvin says: “After briefly hearing PMC’s speakers in the UK, I’ve been wanting to hear more of their range ever since. It has been a great opportunity to have the TwoTwo and MB3S XBD-A models in our studio over the last few weeks, and I hope the demo night was as ear-opening for our guests as it has been for me. It seems likely that PMC will quickly become a mainstay in Australian Studios.”
