Point Source Audio™ Extends Power of the “Unbreakable Boom

New CO-6 Speech Optimized Earset Microphone with Bendable Boom

Novato, Calif. —

Point Source Audio

, manufacturer of the unique bendable boom ear worn microphone—known as the “toughest”? ear-worn microphone in the industry—is launching the CO-6 model earset microphone with the upgraded bendable boom feature for only $49 more. Like its sister CO-5 model, the new CO-6 version features equivalent speech optimized characteristics at maximum 125dB SPL, but now includes all the premium attributes that come with the celebrated “unbreakable boom.”? InfoComm visitors are invited to test the “unbreakable boom”? at the Point Source Audio Booth C6741 at Infocomm 2010 in Las Vegas.

“For a lightweight and delicate style ear-worn microphone, you can’t get more durable than our bendable boom,”? noted James Lamb, President of Point Source Audio. “Typically, the boom receives the most wear and tear in usage so it just makes sense that you’d want to protect that element and extend the life of your microphone.”? Every one of the PSA microphones also includes a protective cable strain relief, and hard-wired connector to increase reliability.

The CO-6 Ear-Worn Microphone Key Features:

• Bendable boom up to 360â—¦

• Water resistance

• Protective cable strain relief to minimize breakage

• Hardwired connectors for reliable performance

• Wearable four (4) ways

• 125dB maximum SPL

• 40 Hz – 17kHz frequency

Point Source Audio introduced its speech optimized CO-5 earset microphone over two years ago to bring the luxury of ear-worn microphones to the masses—including Education and Houses of Worship venues that needed a high quality speech microphone at a justifiable price. The CO-6 extends this great value even further with the highly durable “unbreakable boom”? for only $49 more. The CO-6 is an omni-directional, back-electret condenser ear-worn microphone with the ability to handle 125dB of sound pressure. The microphone is compatible with PSA’s Dual Earset Mic Clip accessory allowing users to also wear the microphone in up to four (4) configurations: single left or right ear wearing, and dual left or right ear wearing.

The CO-6 comes standard with either a 3.5mm locking mini-connector for SennheiserA® Evolution Series wireless body packs, a Hirose 4-pin connector for most Audio-TechnicaA® body packs, or the mini-XLR connector for most Shure wireless body packs. Compatible connectors for other popular wireless systems are also available upon request.

Availability & Pricing:

The CO-6 earset microphone is premiering at InfoComm and will be shipping in June with an MSRP of $348. All PSA mics can be purchased at local music and pro-sound resellers, and system integration contractors listed at the company’s website
