Florence (Italy), 30 May 2022 – Off the back of a very successful ISE, Powersoft will be showcasing the capabilities of Dynamic Music Distribution and its haptic feedback technology Mover, bringing audio and motion together at this year’s InfoComm 2022 (Las Vegas Convention Center, June 8-10th).
The capabilities of Powersoft’s Dynamic Music Distribution (DMD) will be visually demonstrated across three walls of the company’s booth (#W2961), where visitors will have the opportunity to understand how to dynamically route music and other signal sources between different zones, across multiple amplifiers, all independently of source location and without the need for a centralized DSP.
Powersoft’s Mezzo, WM Touch and a SYS Control App will be arranged on the walls, alongside a series of inlayed low power speaker drivers. There will be audio streaming from speakers on the walls, so that people can interact with it and understand more about how the ecosystem works.
“We are looking to demystify something that is perceived as complex but is really accessible for everybody to use and understand,” says Tom Knesel, General Manager at Powersoft US. “We will be walking visitors through the DMD ecosystem which enables the creation of highly customized and easy to use audio experiences – ideal for bars, hotels, fitness centres and other hospitality venues where sound is part of the overall customer experience.”
Showcasing alongside DMD is Mover, Powersoft’s powerful haptic feedback technology, is a direct-drive/tactile transducer designed to create the ultimate immersive experience. Mover is utilized for a variety of multi-technology immersive experiences, including experiential installs, 4D cinemas, gaming chairs, within walls and underneath dancefloors.
For InfoComm, Powersoft has partnered with content creators Blackbox Audio, which specifically curated spatial audio content that aligns with the powerful low-end frequencies of Mover.
James Dellas, Partner at Blackbox Audio was tasked with fabricating a responsive physical platform for the Mover drivers, as well as creating dramatic audio and video content that would effectively showcase the system’s capabilities:
“Working with a combination of licensed media, client supplied clips, and original content, we created Dolby Atmos Surround mixes, and a custom stereo pair of SFX tracks to drive the Movers. Some segments, such as the NASA footage, received a full custom score, specifically for this demo.”
Visitors are invited to experience the power of Mover by stepping onto the modular platform which house two Mover driven by a Duecanali 1604 DSP+D.
Headphones are provided, to make the experience more intimate and immersive on the show floor and by using two Mover enables credible effects when impact sounds in the stereo field are for example, to the left and right of the screens.
Through haptic perception, the lower end of the acoustic spectrum can be felt, something that the club-orientated content that has been produced will take the listener to the heart of the dancefloor!
