PPC® Introduces New Perfect Flex™ Line of Broadband Coaxial Cables

EAST SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Oct. 21, 2009 — PPCA® today introduced its innovative new Perfect Flexâ„¢ line of broadband coaxial cables. By combining superior electrical performance and lasting quality, the latest addition to PPC’s product portfolio is designed to be a future-ready solution for cable operators, meeting the growing need for coaxial cable and the ever-increasing demands on its performance.

Cable operators are often required to return to installations to replace damaged cable or rerun cable to accommodate higher data transfer rates. To reduce such service calls, PPC’s Perfect Flex broadband coaxial cables incorporate the company’s extensive knowledge of the cable industry into a cost-effective, high-performance line of products. Perfect Flex cables offer electrical performance of up to 3 GHz for future-ready installation, micro-crack resistance with superior flexibility, and advanced corrosion inhibitors for lasting quality.

“Returning to installation sites creates a hassle and system downtime for customers, in addition to significantly raising operational expenses for operators. Our Perfect Flex line reduces service calls with superior electrical performance to meet future data transfer rates, and high durability to resist damage in any environment,” said Dave Morrocco, vice president and general manager of broadband for PPC. “As a result of our efforts, Perfect Flex cables are receiving quite an enthusiastic welcome from the industry, with 40 million feet already sold and very positive feedback from cable operators around the world.”

For increased durability, PPC’s Perfect Flex line features advanced corrosion inhibitors, including a corrosion-resistant protectant designed to eliminate moisture migration into the cable construction, and a flowing compound which helps seal small jacket ruptures. Offering a high level of micro-crack resistance, the cable jacket is reinforced with a UV-stable outer layer composed of either polyethylene (PE) or flame-retardant polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which protects the core during installation and throughout the life of the cable.

Made from 100 percent RoHS-compliant material and using the latest eco-friendly manufacturing processes, the indoor Perfect Flex line is available in standard, tri-, and quad-shield varieties and includes an outdoor aerial and underground model. The coaxial cables offer ANSI/SCTE 74 2003 (SCTE specification for braided 75-Ohm flexible RF coaxial drop cable) and NEC compliance, and CATV and CATVR usability. Perfect Flex cables are packaged in the unique, tech-friendly PerfectCubeâ„¢ cable box for kink-free payout.
